Comments (0)Help! I have a period house that I'm trying to keep fairly contemporary and need two new ceiling lights for a dining room lounge. Ideally I would just put recessed lighting in as the room isn't big enough or the style that fixed to put in a statement light but we're planning a full makeover in a couple of years time so it doesn't make sense to do it now. Any thoughts? Xxx...See MoreContemporary mixed with oriental!
Comments (69)Hello comegetme.. the pics are really coming along.. I do feel the red is too prominent with the calmer colours in the room... I would personally try to find something that offers "red" but not quite in such a bold way.. Unless the rear wall was red too... I like the bottom version but the sofa and chair still stand out too much.. I think layering with throws is fine, maybe a beige and a colour that accents the walls of said bottom image.. .. Over 1 side to break up the brown is all you need to do.. Maybe a little table lamp in red too and you have the cushions.. Looking good! : ))...See MoreLiving room centre light or spot lights?
Comments (12)Hi again. Your room is modern, contemporary and elegant and I'd definitely look to soften the look with a pendant light. I can estimate the size of your room and I agree with you, keep it simple and stylish. Quality, is your key here. I'd be tempted to look at glass, something that's reflective or that's clean (non-fussy looking) as you have a lot that's 'talking' in your room. Some ideas would be... https://www.desreshome.co.uk/lighting/pendant-lighting/industrial-style-white-dome-pendant-light https://www.desreshome.co.uk/lighting/pendant-lighting/antique-bronze-wire-beehive-pendant-light maybe white or grey too https://www.desreshome.co.uk/lighting/pendant-lighting/large-glass-dome-pendant-light this large glass dome (see the smaller size for a better picture) https://www.desreshome.co.uk/lighting/pendant-lighting/copper-ball-pendant-light https://www.desreshome.co.uk/lighting/pendant-lighting/glass-cylinder-pendant-light - we have a larger one than this but not on the website - see the three glass cylinder pendant light on the website https://www.desreshome.co.uk/lighting/pendant-lighting/white-gloss-dome-pendant-light https://www.desreshome.co.uk/lighting/pendant-lighting/contemporary-bubble-saucer-pendant-light The size of your light will depend on your room and all lights can have the cable drops made shorter. Comments (31)Hi A.S, sorry for not responding to your previous post! Unfortunately we moved in after the developer had chosen our flooring and I had no say, but I am in love with it. It's a solid grey wood effect tile, when we first moved in we thought it was just vinyl, but then we realised how solid it actually was. As it's a new build I have a feeling it could have been a large supplier like Porcelenosa etc, but I've just had a look online and Topps Tiles have a similar tile see link below http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod45478/tabula-fog-tile.html If you want, you can send me a blank message on here just incase I ever did find out the name from our developer and it will be a constant reminder for me :) I hope this helps a little!...See Mored & b
