Disguising wall mounted emergency alarm box

Hi

I have recently moved into an apartment which has an emergency alarm and pull cords in most rooms. At the present time I do not need them.I have been able to take the cords off all but the one in the lounge( this has the big box attached).

Has anyone got any ideas of how to disguise this as I'm not allowed to remove it. Also I need easy access to it for the regular maintenance.

its located about half way up the wall.
