Cloakroom conundrum!
Comments (32)Ludo Gallagher great idea - I turned mine into a gallery, all the smaller and fun items that would have got a bit lost in a larger space ... photos, prints, postcards framed and not, 2 geckos climbing the walls, a mirror from Morocco and I add more or swap some out when I have something new. The colour is Salsa Red and the tall mirrored cabinet has lots of room for toilet paper, cleaning products and you just push to open/close so it's steam-lined and almost invisible. bombel1972 I loved your options! If I had seen them pre-decorating I may have been swayed. Love the zebras, the orange/monkeys, the tree ... thanks for sharing!...See MoreTrompe l'oeil TV cabinet - hit or miss?
Comments (16)If you home in on the pictures you'll see that the fourth and fifth shelves down are less deep than the shelves above; the perspective is also slightly different. It's painted to look like shelves with books on but the books and shelves are painted on a cover which, in the left hand picture, is fully up to hide the television. In the right hand picture, the cover has been opened and hangs down - revealing the television. It looks as if the television is also on a wall mounted stand that allows it to be moved in and out so it can be brought forward for better viewing and pushed back so the cover an be lifted. I think it's great!...See MoreNew kitchen - what's missing?
Comments (18)Kerry, don't think you need to blow your budget on art - it's in the eye of the beholder. Blown up photographs of your family and friends or collections of smaller photos are great. You could hang objects on the wall too. Maybe look for work by local artists (usually in abundance and family reasonable) or professional photographs or artwork related to where you live is good. Posters and prints are just as worthy and you can get originals or good reproductions for a good price online. If your budget cannot stretch to one big piece then buy a couple of smaller ones and arrange them together. Notonthehighstreet.com is good for reasonable artwork that can be personalised. Most importantly, don't rush! Art is collected over the years, not bought from the supermarket on a weekend. It should reflect your life and personality....See MoreSomething is not right in my new kitchen
Comments (87)Hi Laura, thanks for posting. Wow, it looks amazing! Amazing how much difference the floor, splashback and mirror make, it's transformed. Well done. I'm struggling to like a splashback in my new kitchen (even though I chose it) so was looking for inspiration - my partner just doesn't get it and will probably leave me if I even dare to mention changing it :-)...See MoreWesthaven Interior Design
