Extending: where to put kitchen
Comments (11)I'd put the kitchen in B, living in A and the dining area in C. That way you'll have a view on the garden from the kitchen and the living area. And the kitchen is near the utility, back door and door into the hall, handy when you come home with the shopping. It's also not in direct view from the door into the area. Unless you, like we do, use the dining area not only for dinner, but also for coffee with friends, reading the newspaper... then I'd put the dining table near the garden. In fact, I'd put a TV outlet in both spaces so you can switch dining and living around if you feel like a change....See MoreBringing together colours in kitchen/living/dining room
Comments (14)Hi Tracey, if you want some advice, we do online interior designs at a very affordable price (starting at £50 per room). We can send you a moodboard with all the elements and how they would fit together, choose a colour scheme that works, etc Once you are happy with the design, we would send you the shopping list with all the elements and where to get them online. We would adapt to your budget so you only spend what you have in mind. Comments (18)Is your child/ren old enough to play unsupervised? Will the play room also be used as a guest room frequently? Are you planning on a shower cubicle or wet room? If yes, using your plan I'd do something like this. Personally I'd need a separate room for adults hence closing the front room off but you'd probably need a window by the dining table. The pillar could be used to disguise washing up on the island and you still get a view. I'd swap the utility and wc (may be easier with soil pipe) and stack the wm and td and use the cupboard for ironing board etc. The other side of the cupboard in the play room could be used for toys etc. Having said that I'm not terribly good at planning and it depends if you want a fully functioning utility room (As I literally just use mine for doing the washing!)...See MoreEnough room for ideas? Comments (3)image 3 is missing, option 2 doesn't look a good idea, the triangle of services is broken and whilst that can be ok if its the fridge on its own the sink and stove should be in easy reach of each other. Option 1 looks like it should be ok space wise but it sounds like 3 is a refinement on 1 so I'd like to see that first. You could also reduce the length of the island to have cupboards come round to mirror the fridge, you could even have all the storage space on the walls and the island have both the stove and sink?...See MoreJonathan
