Comments (7)The TV could still go in the 1m nook... we've got ours on a swivel bracket by our back door and so can watch it whilst we're in the kitchen but then come the summer, the TV swivels and we can watch it from the patio so it would work in this setup for viewing when cooking! You could put a corner-style sofa with a chaise long edge, this latter part jutting out across the window (from what I can make out it's windows to the edges and doors to the centre... correct?). Comments (3)Why not try a moveable bookcase on wheels in white, to help screen the Childrens play area? This can then, depending on their ages be decorated as a kind of separate area with colourful storage boxes, playmats etc in White / Green and another funky colour for fun. Comments (10)It’s a lovely room but due to the number of doors it doesn’t feel quite like a room in its own right. I might consider painting the doors in the wall colour which will help enormously (you could also add curtains), As celery girl said I think a large rug where the front feet of the furniture sit on the rug will also have the same effect and also agree re the plant and art. I would add an accent colour and bring in both texture and pattern. I think the room would also benefit from a floor lamp and table lamp/s to cosy it up. It’s hard to make shopping suggestions as you’re not in the uk but perhaps post things you find for comment? I’d also move the water dispenser by the stairs...See More

7 years agoHi. Lovely room and furniture. I'd pull the sofa away from the fire and add a slim black console to balance the tv and fire to which you can add a lamp and accessories and move the floor lamp to the other end. I'd also add a tray on the footstool and just add a couple of books, candle and perhaps a little hydrangea (this is a Kelly hoppen hydrangea as you may be able to tell!). I'd go for an abstract patterned rug as I think it should work with the herringbone, this also comes in another shade of blue but I can't find a pic. A sisal would also work. Agree with large art over your sofa in your colour scheme and a plant, would also add a grate with some logs. The art over the fire looks a little small to me so would try slim candles either side. It may be the camera angle but I'm not sure curtains will hang properly? If not Roman blinds? It would be good to see other aspects of the room, maybe even look at the layout (do you use those doors?) and see if extra cushions are needed on the sofa etc
