Need help with echoes in my dining room and kitchen
Comments (16)The trouble with all these modern hard smooth surfaces and clean lines is you do get a great deal of reverberation and echoe whilst soft furnishing like curtains rugs and cushions will help to a degree the best thing you can do is get Acoustic panelling or padding you can get it in a form as a canvass and have your own picture photo or any digital print, so it wouldn't look out of place but would absorb the sound no one would ever know. There are several companies that can help you but take a look at http://www.soundservice.co.uk/prices_live.php#photosorptions their prices are reasonable and on the site so you have an immediate idea of cost implications. I hope this was helpful. Kind regards Barbara...See MoreHelp needed for colours in kitchen/dining room area please
Comments (6)Claire, One easy way to avoid the area looking clinical is to add colour to your barstools. You could pick out a colour which is in your funky art pieces. For example I attach an image of three Steve Stools in Terracotta and you will see a painting on the wall, with terracotta featured. The same customer had a blind in Terracotta I don't know the colours in your Funky art, but I hope you can see the idea. Alternatively you can get splash backs in almost any colour, so add a splash back which matches your bar stools- for example:- or Finally you talk of wood being featured in parts of the kitchen. You can get barstools with wood veneer backs in various shades. For example I show the City R Stool with Walnut Veneer back. It is also available with Natural Oak or Grey Ash or Burned (Dark Brown) and the seat can be upholstered in 56 different colours In closing I attach just one of the three sample cards available. Have fun adding colour to your kitchen. Kind regards, Graeme Lang, The Barstool Man...See MoreNeed Help with Living Room/ Dining Room
Comments (9)A Roman blind is a good idea or curtains that hang outside of the window recess when open to allow maximum light to pour in. Whichever you choose, make sure they are hung high near the ceiling to make the ceiling feel higher up. What do you use the conservatory for? Is the door in the second photo the main entrance into the room? Would the table fit comfortably nearer the window end of the room instead? Then the sofa could go to the other end of the space - not sure if it fits. It's hard to see how the layout works from the photos and without the measurements or a floor plan. Alternatively, would the sofa fit it you turned it so that it faces the centre of the room rather than the window? I'd hang the seaweed mirror above the sideboard or behind the sofa (depending on final layout) and change the floor lamp to one which reaches over into the living space. Also, you need a much larger rug for the living space. The mirror and art are hung too high at the moment. After the layout is decided then you can think about maybe using wallpaper on one wall. Comments (4)I'd choose the fascias of the units in grey. It's a neutral colour that'll blend with your chairs. It looks like you have an oak shade of furniture so this is a possibility for the worktops and flooring....See MoreCreate Perfect
