POLL: Shower curtain or shower screen?
Comments (37)Screen every time having tried both over the years, Maintenance - Mr Muscle Shower Spray does a pretty good job & every now & again, you do have to clean thoroughly the 'seal strip' at the bottom where it meets the bath (I was out-voted on getting rid of the bath in favour of just a lovely large shower unit or even better....wet room) :-( Ah well. Had the plumbers move the shower controls to the middle of the bath so we could still reach them without having to get wet by turning them on or making it impossible to reach round the screen on the bath - I would recommend that!...See MoreDecorating with bold colours. Comments (26)kevnick80 I am trying to find the right intense blue. I've currently used Sanderson's Sea Blue but the one I wish I had used, and which I found after I'd painted the room, is Abigail Aherne's Bowery Blue. I've put a spread of it on a wall, next to a spread of the one I've used to compare them, and it's richer but brighter and very intense. I will paint over the Sanderson one as soon as I've got the energy. Here's the Bowery Blue - if you put your cursor on the paint colour you see it with good lighting which is, of course, important with dark colours; mirrors make a difference, too: https://abigailahern.com/search?q=bowery+blue...See MoreAdvice needed for Bathroom Renovation - Tiles and Colour Scheme
Comments (16)When I moved in this house the previous owners had proper bathroom tiles in the bathroom but when wet they were ridiculously slippy. So my first concern would definitely be finding out if they are slippy when wet. Re aesthetics, I really like Carolina’s pic mixing wood effect tile with the white and black. I like the high shine of the large format tiles but just looking at them makes me scared of slipping....See MoreColour advice for curtains
Comments (5)Hi Thanks for the reply. I feel like it needs a bit of colour. I was thinking grey but a little darker than the walls. I am going to replicate most of this so a very light grey or just slightly blackened white. I will likely make the colour then have it matched in the paint store. No blue or purple in it. This room gets all day light that’s direct sunlight for a lot of the day so I want the sheers to diffuse it slightly and soften the feel. I don’t actually live there yet so this is not my furniture. I’ll put the sofa on the opposite wall facing the windows and a chair or maybe a pair under the windows facing the green sofa. The the TV stand at the far wall in the middle. The dining table will be opposite the tv at the other end of the room. There will be art on the wall above the sofa and 2 big green plants, one hanging probably in the corner by the windows. Here are the chairs, dining table and footstool and tv stand. I’m replacing the beige carpet in the room, either with light wood amtico or light grey carpet (budget will dictate once I’m moved in)...See MoreNiche Interiors
