Kerb appeal ideas please
Comments (14)thank you tez, I like the porch idea, the entrance would be to the side of the house and if I could afford and permitable I would do a side extension but it's an overkill as the space is enough currently, maybe a small porch style roof over the entry way, I have saved examples of these. I've never thought of using a gate, wouldnt it be a hassle to open and close the gate when parking? but it's a good security feature specially around kids. we need to consider postman too. the side space is being considered for parking as the house entrance is there. and having hedging or planting at the front...See Moreimproving kerb appeal
Comments (6)It's really not bad! And I love pebble dash as its all over our bungalow. Same colour as yours, we thought of painting it but believe the maintenance is tough. You've got some greenery under the window, good. check what type it is, you might want to change it for something with more texture or color. Sorry I'm no help here but I really think it's a nice looking house!...See MoreKerb appeal for front of bungalow
Comments (11)I don’t think this house has zero curb appeal. I also don’t think you have to build forwards to add to the appeal. For me the main thing is the front path and the front door: Assuming budget allows I would spend on hard landscaping- I would put block paving on the roadside gravel area, remove the current steps and front path and instead have a extra wide path (3m wide by the door and driveway reducing to no less than 1.8m in the middle) that curves from the corner of the drive to the front door. I would raise the path to front door level and slope it gently to avoid any need for steps. I would also build this path in the same block paving you choose for the gravel area. If the garden is lower either side of the path then fill the gap with shrubs. I would also consider replacing the front door- in my humble opinion the current door looks dated and if a replacement had a matching panel to the right where the wood cladding is currently the door would appear larger and have more presence. You might also consider a matching garage door. I would also spend on lighting the path and putting downlights in the soffits to light the house at night. A few LEDs will cost very little a year to run all evening. You could also consider having the roof cleaned....See MoreKerb appeal challenge!! 1970's bungalow
Comments (42)Thanks very much Carolina for taking the time and trouble to do the mock ups. They really help. I like the orange, green and yellow. Would you do the side double timber gates in the same colour as the front door or match them instead with the oak window frames? Colourhappy - yes the house design is that way. Its ok to say it 🙂. In terms of the front garden, I'm thinking along the lines of a coastal gravel garden scheme with structured shrubs combined with herbaceous flowering/ foliage plants....See More- User thanked Landscape Design by James Brunton-Smith Limited
