Hello- the skylights already existed. A window showroom like Pella or Marvin would be able to help you I would think.

Kalami in North East Corfu. Beautiful clear blue sea, bleached pebble beach dotted with driftwood overlooked by hills lined with ancient olive and pine trees. A couple of fabulous tavernas on the beach and a water taxi every evening to take you to one of the superb tavernas on the beach (literally) on Agni bay or Agios Stefanos. Grilled calamari, octopus stifado or king crab linguini eaten on a jetty overlooking the bay and the fishing boats - accompanied by a glass of excellent Corfiot wine. No large hotels, nightclubs or English pubs. Unspoilt just like the Greek islands used to be!

Having had another look at roof lanterns, we've decided we prefer the look of flat glass windows. Just a personal preference that it's nice to have something with a clear view of the sky and no frame. Love the look of your kitchen Jayne Forrest so thanks for sharing. Hi Sarah, I would DEFINITELY go with electric. Re the comment above about energy use, unless your spending the entire day operating them then the energy use is zero and nominal. They come with (as you're probably aware) with a great remote, very easy to use. The sensor on them is also amazing in that if it starts to rain they close automatically. I've just moved to a property with 5 sky lights. They're all manual and its a total pain!! I don't get why you'd employ blinds during the day - isn't there anything better than natural light inside? Being north facing your not going to cook and besides on a sunny day through the doors open and feel like your cooking in the garden. I'd probably opt to have 2 large velux only along one side - which ever is hit by the sunlight and skip the light above the door - that's a saving which you could spend on higher spec. The cost of the wiring for this isn't considerable, especially given its new work. Good luck!
