Our quite dark hall but quite sick of Beige walls
Comments (24)How about some wallpaper in the hall? Ours is a long dark hallway and we have used wallpaper on one wall which makes it a much more interesting space, we've had so many compliments on it. I also added a couple of plaster corbels as ours is a Victorian house and I wanted to put some features back. I plan to have a runner on the stairs and a photo wall going up the stairs but I haven't got that far yet!...See MoreSo Bored With Beige
Comments (7)What kind of colours and what sort of look do you like? Had a look to see if you've created an ideabook but you haven't yet. Maybe that could be your starting point - go through the living room pics of houzz, build up an ideabook and you might see some common colours and looks coming through. What direction does your room face and how bright is it? Some colours are better than others depending on what direction the room faces: http://www.farrow-ball.com/light-affects-colour/content/fcp-content...See MoreHow to decorate open plan lounge/dining room in greys, beige and Inclu

I'd go against a whole carpet in tartan as although it's still on trend presently, trends don't last forever, and replacing a rug is cheap compared to a whole carpet when you're fed up with it. I found a lovely one in Next that i think compliments the whole scheme. next rug It's a lovely thick wool rug, sumptuous !...See MoreCarole Hayes
