Help us stop our new kitchen from going clinical!
Comments (43)I thought I'd update everyone as to what we settled on as most of you won't have seen the finished post. Went went for Little Greene French Pale Grey on the walls and then a Grey Quartz worktop which had worked quite well. To stop it from being clinical, we opted for some textured wallpaper in the dining area which is Bala Storm (I think) from John Lewis. We then added some natural tones using a wooden table, and then Vitra chairs. Along with wooden fruit bowl etc. The main window will have wooden venetian blinds, and the bay windows will probably be done in a darker grey material as the perfect fit style blinds you find in conservatories...See MoreKitchen total refurb/layout

Paint over existing brick wall in heavy white. Cooker splashback in gloss black metro tiles. Ready for Christmas! Apart from one evening, the kitchen has remained fully functional and 'presentable' throughout. An absolute necessity for our guests....See MoreMagnificent Loft Conversion Completely Transforms Former Bungalow

Comments (15)Thank you for your kind words, Simone. We've received your email and shall be passing it to our incredibly experience estimator shortly. There's nothing he likes more than a floor plan… loves them, so he does! Chablis vs Cannes. Aesthetically? Phewee… that's like asking which is your favourite child. We don't think an answer exists. They are both, honestly and truly magnificent beasts and we'd be very happy to have either in our homes. Sorry Simone but we couldn't say and it really, truly boils down to personal taste. Young family, eh. Hhmm… well, ITC state Cannes to be "durable and stain resistant." No mention about Chablis, whether it is or isn't. Click here to view their Cannes page and here to view their Chablis page. As we get into the details we can establish this for you. If stain resistant, then you would need to react quickly on any spills/drops. Each contaminant will have different ways to be treated. If liquid, always take a damp cloth and "dab" excess liquids away, never rub. Then, if a stain remains, it could be possible to remove with some of our Stain Remover although it would be a good idea to test the spray on off cuts to see if it has an adverse effect on the colour and pile. Probably won't but you ought to test beforehand… forewarned is forearmed! Threatening the youngsters with four weeks exile in the garage with nothing but lentil soup may be a good initial deterrent. Spillage and potential staining is one of life's greatest unanswered questions. Quick reaction, no matter what the yarn, is always the best piece of advice you can receive. Jump on a spill quickly and you are in with a chance of removing. Leave it over several hours and you are playing Russian Roulette with your beautiful carpet. Red wine, beetroot, ink, blood and make up are probably the greatest offenders. If you can work out a way of banishing these from your carpeted areas you'll be rid of this tyranny! If there's anything else you want to ask Simone, why not email us on info@flooringmegastore.co.uk or use the old fashioned telephone… we love to chat about flooring! We're cute, we're cuddly… we're the Flooring Gurus!...See MoreCreate Perfect
