How to finish this room?
Comments (146)Having looked through this post, I have to say I love the way that this project has progressed so far. The dark purpleyblue used in your lights would be lovely for a splash of color perhaps paired with a softer pale blue. Some great pillows that would go in this way include a soft of aubergine and eggplant shade. (As demonstrated by the drape examples here). Good luck I look forward to seeing where your project takes you next as it looks a lovely peaceful room. :)...See MoreContemporary mixed with oriental!
Comments (69)Hello comegetme.. the pics are really coming along.. I do feel the red is too prominent with the calmer colours in the room... I would personally try to find something that offers "red" but not quite in such a bold way.. Unless the rear wall was red too... I like the bottom version but the sofa and chair still stand out too much.. I think layering with throws is fine, maybe a beige and a colour that accents the walls of said bottom image.. .. Over 1 side to break up the brown is all you need to do.. Maybe a little table lamp in red too and you have the cushions.. Looking good! : ))...See MoreBedroom conundrum
Comments (20)Hi there So here is my two cents...please take it with a pinch of salt Not knowing the budget. Remove the dado rail it draws the eye to it and from what i can tell you have nice ceiling height. Introduce LED recessed spot lights in warm white not too many. Its hard to tell if you have a cornice if not I would put another set of cupboards on top of the ones you have with an up stand and run a plaster cornice around the room and the wardrobes this would give you more storage accentuate the height and make the wardrobes feel fitted. Take down the curtains and replace with shutters that black out. Change radiator to a flat panel and paint it in with the wall colour. Keep the chair in the corner but re upholster. New carpet. Over sized head board with a deep button could look great with a divan bed. See picture. Colour scheme I like Paper and paint look at lead 1 for the walls, and skirting and wood work, for the ceiling a broken white 1/2 white 1/2 lead 1. For the wardrobes lead 2 and reeded handles in nickel, classic looking change all window fitting to nickel and door handles. Keep fire place looks great. You need a mirror above the Fire place, some really nice bedside tables A great bedside table wide if you can, perhaps painted to match the wardrobes. As well I think a classic modern Glass Side Lights from Vaughan lighting or similar in budget with a dark shade. and finally run the TV cabling to the end of the bed before you put in the new carpet and make a custom ottoman with a TV that pops up at the end, that should finish it off. Feel free to get in touch if I can be of any further help....See MoreClothes storage for tiny bedroom
Comments (25)Ikea have a headboard which you can fit behind your own bed and eliminate the bedside units gaining more space for nightstand use and quilt storage underneath. It will give you some more privacy from the window too. Eventually a roman blind would be more appropriate too. The remaining wall at the side of the window can be used for hanging shelving like the ikea kallax. Open the space visually by simply adding a larger mirror to a side wall and hang hats scarves and even coats on pegs along the opposite wall. Use the space above the entryway door for shelving or closed cupboards and fit in a corner wardrobe. If you can remove the door or get it to swing outward. If you consider changing the bed for an underbed storage one it must have a hydraulic mechanism otherwise it is a nightmare. But you can find some storage bags or boxes that slide under the existing bed - just measure properly and try to make the best of the space. Alternatively you could change the bed completely to a high up loft base with a ladder and have ample space beneath it. Check the ikea Stora and others too....See MoreUser
