Hello, the door surround was an antique find and so cannot be repurchased unfortunately. Reclamation yards are good places to look for similar items. Kind regards, CLI

Here in Oregon, we refer to a den as more of a manly, comfy room. Part office, part tv room. The family room is like a living room but with a tv. A living room is generally more formal and used for casual conversation. For a house that doesn't have a family and living room both, the words are interchangeable though, which can get confusing for people used to more formal living. We are fairly informal around here. I would assume drywall is like plasterboard. When houses are built, the framing goes in, filled with insulation on exterior walls, then all of the studs get covered with big sheets of drywall that then gets all the seems "taped" and smoothed and then texture is sprayed over it all, then paint. Drywall isn't used in all rooms, there is a special kind called green board used in bathrooms, which is mold resistant. Cement board is also used on any walls or floors where tile is being applied, like bathrooms or kitchens, which is also mold resistant. I am loving this subject! It's so fun to see what people all over the world call different things.

Hello fhparis I painted my 1980's fitted dark brown wardrobes a year ago. I was able to remove a shelf which i used to practice on and to get an idea of the finish i could achieve. Or indeed if i could do it. Your wardrobes are lighter in colour which is a plus. I mentioned the products i used in an earlier post. Dont underestimate how long it will take to do. I think i applied 3 undercoats and at least 3 top coats. It was well worth the effort and cost a fraction of buying new wardrobes. The pics show 2 sets of painted wardrobes. Hi, Rendering would be lovely but just painting in an off white would give you a massive facelift and for very little money in comparison. I would try this first and see how you feel. Easy to do yourself to save money too (few tins of paint and hire of a tower)! There are plenty of ways to spend a huge amount of I refurbished a 1940s ex-council semi which had the same kind of unpainted pebbledash Secondly the house needs some shape to look its best, so I agree that adding a porch would make a huge difference. This is a terraced house I refurbished (bit of a hobby) that had a shared porch and as long as you agree to pay for it, usually the neighbours are all in favour of home improvements. The trick I think in this situation is to make your house blend in with next door which is more expensive but worth it as at a glance you can't see where one house ends and another starts. Ok, so this is Victorian and a different style to your house but a modern style porch in a natural finish wood would look fab! Sorry to ramble, but I just think your house is lovely and so exciting to have a blank canvas!! Good luck. x
