Colour advice for open plan kitchen
Comments (12)Hi @Juliet Docherty I'm going luxury vinyl (honey oak) on the floors throughout the ground floor. The kitchen is going to be shaker and painted so I can choose the colour(s). I've mostly taken colours throughout my house from this cushion. There are similar colours (and more) in the painting in the dinning room. I'm using pink as the accent colour in the through lounge. Work surfaces will be Calcutta quartz (perhaps Calcutta gold to pick up the orange colour from the cushion). I've thought about a moody pink like F&B Sulking Room Pink or F&B Oval Room Blue to go with the walls, or perhaps a blush pink with lots of warmth to compliment the brushed brass. What do you think?...See MoreStruggling with colour/pattern in a small kitchen splash back area

Comments (1)For a bright modern kitchen I think a wooden floor, or wood effect porcelain, will go beautifully. Porcelain is quite cold underfoot so you may consider under floor heating. Worktop I would keep it simple with maybe a white quartz with some veining. You could continue the worktop up as a splashback with an upstand all round. This will give a clean look, but if you want tiles then don’t need an upstand. There are so many gorgeous tiles about so it’s worth having a search online. Comments (7)So you get the morning sun, lovely. I’ve heard that Timeless by Dulux is a warmer white. It does have a tiny hint of yellow. F&B Pointing looks warm too, as does Little Green Slaked Lime. Get some sample pots and paint onto A4 card and then blue tack them to the walls in different places to get a better idea of how they would look in different lights. Below, in order, is Timeless, Pointing and Slaked Lime....See MoreKitchens by Mode Ltd
