Hand finished kitchen or pre finished.

Typically our furniture leaves our workshop fully finished colour matched to F&B in Morrells sever use lacquer. It sprays on great and has a very nice tactile feel to it. Process is two primer, topcoat with subtle brush strokes and another topcoat. It can be a time consuming process especially on a large kitchen. Reason for brushing, can be touched up easier and looks authentic.
Ideally we'd send it out primed and get a specialist decorator in to finish. This would ultimately speed us up.
So my question, is fully finished fitted furniture what every expects? For example Harvey Nichols paint on site and do plenty of kitchens.

I think if you cost it out you will find that hand painting on site will bring your kitchens into a higher price point. There is also the hassle factor for the client as it will delay getting a completed project. There is also hassle for you- finding trades in different parts of the country who can consistently finish your kitchens as you would like them finished.
In my humble opinion there is a price threshold where buyers want more than quality, they want a nationally recognized premium brand name and reputation and you might be better keeping your current workshop finished kitchen option but also offering a primer only option and giving the client the option of getting their own painter.

We send ours out with 2 coats of primer and 2 top coats. We then give it a final top coat after fitting. Our furniture looks slightly different to yours in the fact our skirting is put on to the face. This means filling and painting of pin holes on site. It does not take long to paint the kitchen on site as it is already finished. We use a brush a roller. There's many deciding factors behind this. You've got to do what works for you.

Hi Lilly! Well... I have to be honest and admit that I was thinking about lying and saying it's great, etc. The truth is: I've never used it! not once. I'm a shower girl and it's not that I won't take a bath (I would, I promise I'm not whiffy!!) it's just that since we've moved in, I never had the time or felt the need. Plus, I feel guilty and uneasy thinking of the amount of water I'd waste filling up that monster (and we have a second tub in the loft bathroom that's smaller -- never used that one either...) When we chose the tub, I think hubby and I were a bit nostalgic; I used to have this huge hideous burgundy corner bath in the house I bought just before we met and let's just say, we used to like taking baths together (hmmmm...). So we went for a large one, I guess both thinking of our almost decade old adventures'! I did however undertake an experiment for you: I went and laid in it, just to see how it is. I'm 1.62m (about 5'4'') and with a slight bend of either knees or neck, you can sleep quite comfortably in there. I also thought it could be a great hiding place in case of 'god forbids': fill half of it with water, add bubbles and submerge - it's enough to cover all of you & hopefully nobody will think to look for you in there! :)) I've digressed ... not sure if I answered your question. Hi Heather I dont think it is a Cooke & Lewis kitchen but we brought a couple of their integrated doors from b & q doors for our new appliances and they look the same. The painter just wiped on Owatrol ESP and left it to dry for a few hours, it says wipe of on the instructions but you shouldnt wipe it of. He painted 2 coats with a leyland mix oil based egg shell paint. We wanted a matt finish as apposed to a shiny finish. We left the inside of the cupboards the same colour. Here is the kitchen 1 year later it still looks as good as new.

I'd try DIY kitchens or an independent as Daisy suggested. I suspect DIY or an independent could come in at howdens price or less based on what my mum paid (!) without the hefty bill of a pro then painting or spraying your cupboards. If it was an old kitchen I'd paint it myself but you really want a pro finish if you're going to the expense of a new kitchen or I would! http://www.diy-kitchens.com/kitchens/

i think its really nice! i agree about removing the fake flowers (maybe replace with fairy lights if you want something up there?) I think it needs a bit of pattern to add depth - maybe a patterned blind, as suggested above. You could also go a bit darker with the paint - something to contrast more against the cupboards. i think you could go as dark as F&B Downpipe to add some richness. Otherwise, a pair of largeish pics on the left-hand wall?

For speed of completion, I would have it factory painted and then one to two coats as needed with spot priming of joints and pinholes.
