Amtico versus Kardean flooring
Comments (9)In reply to winterfloods:- We have Karndean 'Van Gogh - Antique Pine', which is also wood effect - even has woodworm holes on it. We had it laid about 6 years ago and it's the best floor we've ever had. It cover most of the ground floor including, snug, dining room, kitchen, utility room and downstairs bathroom. We have had the same non-slip in the Utility Room for the Dogs to zoom over and hopefully touch at some point for years. This one:- Rubber Mat. NEVER MOVES - and the dogs aren't small or careful! Our floor is the most forgiving floor we've ever had. The dogs don't scratch it, it's been flooded on twice, is never slippery, even when newly mopped. It disguises the dog hair and dirt until hoovered every day, ( they shed a lot of hair ). I think maybe your sister has just been unlucky. Karndean as far as i am aware is superior to Amtico and we would never have anything else now....See MorePlay room or open entranceway/area
Comments (14)Yes you’re right, the way they use the room will change over time. The kids don’t play together on their own yet but it won’t be long plus I like to vary the rooms they play in especially if we’re stuck inside for a longer amount of time. I don’t want to add sliding doors further down the line as it’s a bigger project and going to cost a fair bit anyway so I don’t want to do it twice especially the flooring. The hallway is going to be slate just like the kitchen but think that if we have it open to that area too then it’ll have to be slate as it would look a little odd with kardean through there. Thats a good idea re storage. We’re looking st getting built n cupboards but having all the small bits in baskets so they’re tidy. I also do a lot of work from home as im a teacher so need a bit of space for my things too...See MoreFlooring for kitchen/living room and hall
Comments (5)A high quality laminate will withstand general leaks and spills, Anna. They look fabulous and wear for ages. Quick-Step is one such high quality laminate, carries lengthy manufacturer backed warranties and we currently offer all their collection with 0% finance and quantity discounts. Click here to see Quick-Step's collection. LVTs are also a viable solution. Different method of manufacturing compared with laminate. LVTs are pvc based and generally 2.5mm thick and are fully adhered to the subfloor, whereas laminates are wood pulp based and generally around 8-12mm thick. In terms of wear and appearance there's very little pros and cons between the better quality brands. Karndean make a good LVT but with all the hype behind their brand and marketing you do end up paying a little more than perhaps you should. As you touched on in your post with your previous experience with lesser quality laminates, cheaper products meet budgets but rarely stand the test of time and, actually, aesthetically they are noticeably inferior. Amtico and Karndean are LVT brand leaders and back their products with significant warranties but we would also recommend you considering these keener priced alternatives that come from equally reputable producers: Flooring Megastore own label LVT, all of which have 0% finance available. Click here. Polyflor LVT. Click here. Natural Solutions LVT. Click here. If there is anything we can do to help you Anna do feel free to contact via live chat directly from our web site, or email us at info@flooringmegastore.co.uk or telephone which is 01622 - 790 356. Finally, we suggest any consumer performing due diligence before commissioning work to an unknown supplier. You can view ourTrustPilot reviews by clicking here. Comments (10)If it were my house I would want to be able to spill light into the back of the original living room, I think the playroom should move as it is a barrier to the garden, I think the square space labeled living dining is either too small for both or too big as a dining space, I think the snug feels like it’s not a proper room without a window and for me the hall and cloaks space feels too big. And personally I think even if you create a proper play room the kids will want to be where ever you are so the only benefit of a playroom is being able to close the door on all the brightly coloured plastic when they have gone to bed- but while they are up it will likely invade your space- A big cupboard would serve the same function. If it were me I would either stick to this plan, merge the snug and playroom to have a decent living space and include lots of storage for toys. Alternatively consider a minor replay and having a smaller playroom elsewhere....See Moretwamleyk
