Calling Bathroom Experts ! ..bathroom saga.
Comments (17)Update -- my plumber finally returned. Not sure what he did while here, but he told me again it wasn't working -- then he did some work on a radiator which had a small leak. We were having a long discussion about options on pumps, new showers, taps etc and I read out the installation guide and he tried it again, and suddenly it worked. It is bizarre as I don't know how many times i tried it previously. My friend who works in construction ALSO called earlier today and tried it several times to no avail. It must have been extremely stiff or perhaps the plumber realised some airlock whilst fixing the radiator since I think water pressure is much stronger since he went. Thanks for everyones help -- i learned lots on plumbing and a valuable lesson to take out the installation manuals myself and not trust that trades men know everything!!! I feel like celebrating!!...See MoreBathroom tiles. HELP!!!!!
Comments (14)Thank you all so much for your input. We finally found the tiles that my husband I both agreed to.They are from Dune (lovely selection). I think it is very important to get samples as they look different online to when we actually see them in reality. Thank you all so much...See Morehelp! how can I make a bathroom work with a pattern tile?
Comments (30)We are looking for the same type of tiles to use on the wall of the sink. The whole bathroom will be a toned down yellow (that's the idea for now) and a secluded shower area - turquoise. The idea is to make it Spanish style, ao there will be a lot of dark wood wood (beams, mirror, sink plank, maybe some more planks, wooden door), some old school wall lights. Shower head and tap are supposed to be bronze color, the old school type. And we'll have plants hanging and standing around. Only not sure about the floor tiles yet. My husband wants it all in pebbles, but i'm not sure it will look nice...See MorePlease help me decide which tiles for bathroom
Comments (9)Minnie, This photo may be more accurate - I’ve propped them up as best I can on the bath (current bath to be replaced with claw-foot roll top). The shower tray will be white acrylic and there will be no tiles at wash-hand basin, just shower tiles and the herringbone floor tiles. Cle, thanks for your comment though I completely disagree with you - metro/subway tiles have been around since the last century and are classic - they just happen to currently be trendy! I do not slavishly follow trends but I live in an old cottage and the traditional style floor and subway tile suit the property perfectly. My bathroom is naturally dark, which I like, and want to work with hence the dark taupe herringbone floor tiles. There is really not a huge difference in the shades of white so I am probably over-analysing because I made a mistake choosing shower tiles before....See Moreboundsgreener
