What colour blinds?

Here is a picture of one of the double aspect windows in our living room. We are both North and south facing!

We have skimming stone paint colour on the wall and elephants breath on the skirting.
Our new corner sofa arrived the other day form multiyork and it's grey.

What colour roman blind should we go with in our living room?
We want to accent the room with a rich purple - see pic!

Should the blind be grey, biscuit, cream, purple, taupe? Any rules here? Should a blind be darker or lighter than the walls?

The media unit will be replaced.
We also have copper colour lights.

Hi. It depends on a few things really. Are you saying that the purple shown individually in the picture is the colour you are going other accent pieces in?
I think a pink blush works so well with the purple and with grey as well as copper that I would have to go for that. I would then try adding that somewhere else in the room along with the purple though. You need it all to tie in nicely by picking your accent colours out around the space.

Agree with CreatePerfect, Purple is going to be too darkening on the room in general and should be reserved for the accent colours, cushions etc. ( Love all the colour fabrics shown in the first pic and would pick cushions in all colours used ).

I think the blush is a good medium and will go with all.,

I had a quick look on blinds 2 go and they have two fabrics called blush, you can't tell the difference on the website, so i'd always order swatches.
If you don't like plain, i did find one that encapsulated all your colours in a leaf design, and also one with blush and purple in a more modern design.
As everyone likes something different, it's all a matter of personal choice. I like the plain blush's but also the leaf print as it's fresh and airy,

I would suggest that you go for a with white Roman blind to complement the red feature wall and I would choose a possible off white fabric or pure white as then it will look like a continuous white wall. Also to addition to this I would like to add stripes will suit this room too as it will break the barrier between both walls preferably go horizontal with a large gap preferably 3 inches between each stripe it will make the return at the top seamless.

I would personally go for the aubergine velvet (thrid from right) with either a central 10cm wide horizontal stripe in the bronze silk (second from left) or with a 15cm wide band of the bronze silk at the bottom. - or both - just a thought! It would lend colour and texture and you could repeat it on a couple of large cushions, then have a slightely smaller couple in augbergine and a slightly smaller still couple in the bronze silk.
