Need help choosing where to put the hall way?
Comments (15)Hello again and thank you so so much for all your comments and suggestions. I read all of them and I visited our architect today. This is what we came up with. I think it is also what @nmshea recommended. I think this looks much better and is what we wanted. I just want to mention that we live in Cyprus where it's very hot most of the time so we need the big balconies and double doors. Also the small bedroom will be eventually a kids bedroom and not so much of a guest room but it's not that important now. So this is the plan with the last changes made. What do you think? Do you prefer L-shaped sofa or a 3-seater and a 2-seater? Thanks again to everyone who has commented :)...See MoreI'm painting my kitchen and need some help!
Comments (10)Hi. I like your kitchen as it is however after 6 years maybe it is time for a change! Your idea of painting just the wall units would work, I'd keep them in the wall colour, not sure if you're changing that or not? I think the worktop is fine, it's reflecting light (and everything else!)! Another option is to keep the island in wood (also means avoiding painting wine rack). If you went for cup handles for example I think you could have 2 on each island drawer without leaving any holes. I'm not sure on the cooks blue with the black tops but the pitch blue may work although I don't expect it will alter the light situation. Have you also looked at little Greene paint? I rave over the quality and it wipes down very easily whereas I personally find f&b and dulux trade doesn't. In theory I would use satinwood on the beams although I have used emulsion on a couple of things that don't take any knocks to get a chalky feel and they're absolutely fine....See MoreOld bathroom needs a revamp!!
Comments (15)The first thing you need to do is create storage. If you change your pedestal sink for a vanity, there would be storage below for bottles and jars. Also, you have some space at the end of your shower. Have your local joiner make a shallow, tall cupboard right down to the tub to make it look built in. Finish it in an exterior paint to take the moisture from the shower. There are specialist paints for tiles. Forget B & Q. Go to your local decorators' merchants for advice and good quality paints. If the quantity of mirror is not to your taste, remove the one to the left of the toilet, however the wall would be recessed from the front of the tiles below and the only way to repair that would be to tile with the same size tiles, then paint them as well. Better to leave the mirror until you've done the tile painting. A glass shower screen, replacing the curtain, will make the room seem larger. Painting the tiles white would make the room clean and fresh and neutral. I'd leave the floor as is. Wood is warm visually and underfoot. Using some natural baskets for waste and for a planter would link to the floor. Warm the room up with brightly coloured towels and bathmat. Put up some colourful prints using double sided tape to stick to the tiles and the mirror....See MorePlay room for a 5 year old and 7 year old girl - impossible task
Comments (18)Hi. The width of the room is 210m. The nibs are around 300 each so they are quiet narrow. Do you mean put the tall storage there in either side ? I have got a very light reclaimed wooden floor to go into the play room. It’s very Scandinavia style which I love but I wanted to carry this through to he play room in a fun way. For the cabinets for storage I did have another idea: which was use the ikea ivar cabinet and maybe have them wall hung or on the floor (pic below). The reason why I chose these cabinets is because they are only 300 depth will be nice and flush with the nib (if that makes sense) and they took away all the toys. The cabinets come in pine so I could paint them to get the stream line look. I’ve never really done anything different before so do you think this could work? I’m thinking in trying to pull something off that really could work or that it may end up a total disaster. thanks...See MoreHaynes Interiors
