Recommended floor tiles with Howdens Burford Stone kitchen

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has a floor tiles in their Howdens Burford stone kitchen. We are looking at this for our kitchen with white granite worktop and we fancied a change from wooden flooring. We were hoping to get tile floors leading from kitchen/diner out to the hallway and downstairs toilet. Really looking for recommendations and any photos if possible.

Us Flooring Gurus would recommend a luxury vinyl tile (LVT). Been around for a while now but the manufacturers are getting better at making this man made product look like a real wood or stone flooring. The benefits with LVTs are they tend to be 2.5mm thick, are fully waterproof (made from PVC), have a thick wear layer on the top that normally means the manufacturers offer something like a 10 year warranty and are great if you have underfloor heating. Unlike ceramics, if you drop something on an LVT floor the floor tile will not break; the floor tiles are robust but a little more forgiving than stone floors. The authenticity of an LVT is considerably better than most cushion vinyl floors and you'll get lots of life from one, if installed correctly. The better manufacturers to consider buying are Polyflor, Karndean and Amtico. There are many more available but the bottom end of the market tends to come from China and their designs look pretty awful - stay clear! Hi Alison. I don't have a pic unfortunately but my mum quite recently had this fitted with a pale greige Quartz worktop and upstand, cup handles and an oak effect karndean floor which looks really nice. It does look good with oak and oak. I personally would go for an off white Quartz or a marble Quartz but as I say the wood does look good. You should be able to find pics online of all options but I can post some if you can't find them

Cashmere is one of those colour names that is confusing. It's hard to comment without seeing it but if you look at the following image it shows what I think is a colour clash: The cashmere doesn't seem to go with the white tiles and clashes horribly with the worktop which looks blue. The cashmere has red in it and so it needs a sympathetic floor like this: There are so many tiles out there you should be able to find something and a decent tile showroom should have someone who can pick out the different underlying hues in the tiles and find a match to the cashmere. Cream could also clash with the purpley red of the cashmere, they are opposite on the colour wheel. Don't restrict your tile choices, go to showroom that has a huge range of different neutral coloured tiles and bring them home and look at them with a sample door.

Hi Karen,

We have just had large limestone tiles laid in our new kitchen / living / diner and they're one of my favourite things about the room.

We have gone for a Shaker style kitchen with white / grey Quartz worktops (albeit the cabinetry colour probably isn't everyone's taste )

The tiles are 2cm thick and made from seasoned limestone, so have a lovely finish and texture and connect our different rooms beautifully. We have installed wet underfloor heating underneath.

For context of size for the tiles, the island is 1.25m x 2.4m.

As requested here are a few pics- excuse the unfinished state, as the kitchen is still being fitted and we haven't decorated yet, so the floor is quite grubby!! Super hard wearing!!!

The first one is our Dijon Tumbled Limestone, which has been laid in a grand opus pattern.

The second is the Light Tumbled Travertine, which has been laid in a brick bond pattern using 610x406 tiles.

The third is the Worn Ivory Sandstone, which has been laid in a free-length pattern.
