Bathroom cleaning tips - what works for you?
Comments (26)From a radiator expert's viewpoint, the key is ensuring you heat the room adequately and for bathrooms we keep them warmer generally due to lack of clothes! If you call us on 01274 515734 with your room measurements and your towel radiator measurements and we can advise if the towel rail you have currently is suitable. You don't want to buy a new radiator if there is no need! Going for a "dual fuel" radiator is also a good suggestion as these come with a summer heating element for use when the central heating is turned off. We offer these on all our ladder style towel radiators. Keeping the bathroom warm will help with condensation but it can't eliminate it. The steam condenses on a cold surface, so good insulation and keeping the water level to a minimum is very important. So add cavity wall, double glazing, if possible and encourage the steam to escape with open windows and good extractor fans. However from personal experience, this is often still not enough and a squigee and an old towel for drying those prone areas before the mould develops is your best bet. Although it is a pain to dry the shower after use, it is much easier than trying to remove mould later on. Good luck! I can sympathise! Comments (8)Thanks for your reply. I got in touch with the company I bought those tiles from and they advise me to use a matt sealer on the tiles. They recommended this one https://www.tonsoftiles.co.uk/ltp-mattstone-1l.html. Also they said I need to use a special washing liquid for the floor. The tiles are beautiful but require special care. Hopefully we will all be pleased with the final result. Thanks again!...See MoreHow to clean an uneven slate floor
Comments (7)I’ve got a natural slate floor and yes my skates are not smooth either. I use an old fashioned mop and steel mop bucket and that seems fine. But perhaps yours needs sealing again. I used Matt sealer first but thought it looked dirty and had it done again with gloss sealer. And the gloss looks great but it actually looks like how I expected the Matt sealer to look. Ps I’ve got two Irish setters and myself coming in and out of the garden in that room and I really like how easy the floor is to look after....See Morehelp with cleaning shower tray
Comments (14)So technical dept is closed but the woman spoke to her managing director (would have liked to have spoken to them direct but hey ho) and said to use a limescale remover like ‘limelight’ Leave it on overnight and it should remove it. I asked about a specific grout remover like rocatex one I found online which is a grout and cement remover but she didn’t know anything. Also couldn’t find out about how the tray is made and what thickness the top coating is so will try the limescale thing today and call them again tomorrow when technical is back in if it doesn’t work!...See MoreR countryside
