Decor ideas please :)
We would welcome any advice... all furniture is going to a relative, leaving a blank canvas. We like the Scandinavian style, and grey shades, just worried it will end up looking very dull?

Comments (3)I think going for light blonde furniture will be better than black one. Go for light grey or beige sofa, glass top coffee table to create the effect of space, or small square table. Few tallboys as a storage, finishing touches, like curtains and cushions and you should be ok. Comments (5)Hello, Lovely amount of space for working, lucky you! It looks like you have extra seating and in such a small space do you really need them all to be in there? For example, the chair that's next to the mirrors? You could remove that and replace the box seat with something more stylish and less clunky? If you send me the wall measurements from the door to the left side of mirror I can give you some suggestions to start you off. I think it will look "neater" if you could have the same style chairs in the room if you do need the others. The back drop wall that can be seen when you have a zoom call would benefit from different artwork or wall decor. Do you want to keep the shelf that's on the right side or would you be open to replacing it? Also, you could get a radiator cover which always looks nice. In terms of the workspace and cupboards, it will really make it look better if you can declutter and get rid of anything that does not need to be stored there, then you could have some nice decor items especially in the display cabinets. Comments (4)Hi, congrats on your first home together! I'm struggling to get my head round the floor plan. Is there really no access to the living room from the hall? Nor to the kitchen? I think the L lends itself well to a dining area up by the kitchen and cosier seating in the other part. You could be bold and use different colour schemes to denote the different areas (perhaps with the dining area continuing the colours/style of the kitchen so they feel connected?) or just your furniture, rugs and lighting to change the feel of the spaces. Is there a nice view out through the conservatory that you'll want to be facing? Might you like to fit a fireplace on the end (garage) wall to give a focal point to the sitting room? Scandi can be a variety of different things - it doesn't have to be all neutrals, there are some exciting colour mixes out there.
I have posted a board below and you already have the lamp that would fit it well with the scheme. It features grey as well as sage green and a great blue that lifts the scheme.
The wallpaper would be for a small area only, such as the wall behind the sofa.
They are quite dark so could be softened with plain colour throws.

We are really happy that you are going for Scandinavian style. It is so beautiful and clean. It's always exciting when a new project begin. Bravo!
No worries, it won't look dull - You just need to keep simple lines and contrast the monochrome palette of colours.
Don't forget an adequate lighting. Having a couple of lamp shades, bare pendant bulbs or a hanging cluster of bulbs will add that Scandinavian twist to your room. Find below a couple of examples that might help you.
