Bored of grey living room. What next?
Comments (18)Thank you everyone for your great suggestions. I don't have a lot of money I'm afraid so can't really splash out buying everything new. My bedroom is Mauve with light grey accessories which I love but I don't really want to copy that in the living room. I do think a carpet would make the living room warmer as its quite a cold house. But would that mean more grey (for carpet)?! As comfortable as the sofa is, it was probably not my best idea as its limiting choices. I just need to decide on a completely different colour or light grey and light grey curtains. I like the geometric suggestions but maybe in a white/silver or the peacock blue wall. Also I had one of the side walls yellow at one point but got bored of that too. Thanks again for all your help....See MoreNew living room grey sofas
Comments (3)Hi. Have you considered blush pink and copper? Or you could look at yellows or warm greens. Any colour will go but based on your idea book you like grey rooms so it would be nice to choose a warm colour as an accent colour. Have you also considered a wood floor or perhaps karndean wood effect? Choose wall colour last unless you want to use wallpaper as there are thousands of paint colours so will always find something to complement. Do you have any art that you could pick out colours to complement or have you seen a nice fabric/cushion?...See MoreSlate grey leather sofa and white walls...
Comments (9)Hi there, as your room is small, a lighter coloured carpet is perfect at maxing up the light to accentuate a feeling of space, a silvery grey would work well, for example our Sensation Supreme range in colour Cool Concrete. If you’re not sure that you can take it totally plain, opt for a cosy feel carpet in a tempting texture such as our Malabar range in colour Quicksilver. Use simple, smooth lines and clean, cool colours while still creating warmth and personality by adding simple accessories such as lamps, throws, and wicker baskets. Sampling is the perfect way to see if a particular colour matches your existing décor. You can see and feel how the colour and texture work in the room and in the light. http://www.cormarcarpets.co.uk/free-samples.php Let us know what you decide!...See MoreHELP! Comments (16)I'd go for raspberry & pink, not as harsh as red, but definitely warming. I'd be very tempted if you go for the darker curtains, to go for the same colour rug, just for a bit of unity. However, if you then put a wooden coffee table on the rug, the wood will warm it up. All the pinks above will go with any grey, Different texture cushions in paler colours will help soften the look. This rug and coffee table go well with the whole theme, softens it down, and although grey tones, when mixed in with the soft accessories, cushions, vases, curtain ties etc will look really cosy.
