Help with paint colour for kitchen walls please

I have cream units with dark charcoal work tops and medium oak floor. The tiled splasback is three colours of cream, light and dark grey. I painted the walls in a truffle colour but it's turned out a lilac grey and I hate it. Can anyone help with a colour for the walls please. I don't like bold colours.

Here is the sofa I have bought the room floor plan (the snug area is the bottom left area) the corner sofa will go in the bottom left corner with the long but along the left wall -facing the fire and the short bit against the bottom wall (as in the picture) I have also attached a photo of the wall paper against the sofa - but obviously it is no where near to scale!!! Oh also flooring will be oak herringbone parquet and a slate hearth for the stove ... Any Help and advice would be much appreciated - Thankyou!!

We will be repainting existing doors as we got a second hand kitchen. Other possibility is to replace doors as I would prefer shaker style but either way we would need to paint part of the existing units. I'll attach a picture of our new units in their previous situ.

Hi, Using colour: I would stay neutral for the walls above the units; a great colour example of this is 'Strong White' by Farrow and Ball and then for the wall on the left of the photo I would have this as a feature all and go for a darker tone such as 'Green Blue' by Farrow and Ball. Using lighting: spotlights are great as they can provide an even spread of light in your kitchen, especially if you are limited in natural light. Due to having a dark coloured back splash, having under cabinet spotlights on a separate electrical circuit would provide additional lighting on the worktop area in the evening and night hours. I would use Farrow and Ball slipper Satin looking at your room and the cupboard colours and the floor colour all round. Will give you warmth, will be more modern than what you have as has a grey in it (but a very warm grey, not strong at all, a creamy greeny light grey depending on time of day), and won’t be harsh like the 3 colours you chose, they are very very strong and you may regret it. I hate to be a spoilsport but everyone I know who wanted to be different and used a very dark wall or colour on a normal semi style house ended up regretting and repainting. Slipper satin will look just right in my opinion being both safe but dark enough. Unless you had windows on 2 sides I wouldn’t go dark anywhere. Also, keep the window areas whiter, not bright white (that has blue in it), just regular white. Just my humble opinion based on looking at hundreds of show homes (and still not being happy with any) lol...
