Is it easy to retro fit revolving corner cupboard ?

I'm in a new build house with Pre fitted kitchen. Love it however, everything gets lost in my corner cupboard as I can't access it all . So need help!

It's possible to retro fit corner solutions (if a little fiddly) so you could look at someone like Kessebohmer for example: http://www.kesseboehmer.com/en/company-divisions/kitchen-furnishings-equipment/corner-cabinets/carousel-270/

Karen, to be honest with you, you do not really need the council's approval (or Lawful Develpment Certificate). As long as you are absolutely sure that what you are doing is within PD, you can just go ahead. The LDC is for future buyers, and can be gained retrospectively. I didn't wait for it on either of my projects - by the time it came from Lambeth I had basically finished the outside of the loft. It is absolutely critical that if you do this, you make sure your plans are compliant though...with loft conversions that is mainly making sure that you do not exceed the maximum additional volume measurements, and that the dormer is set back 20cm from the edge of the original roof. Do make sure your builder is on top of the necessary building control notifications and inspections though - this takes much more effort, and is nothing to do with planning, and absolutely compulsory. Happy to tell you more about this/answer questions: you have my e-mail address. Everything from the specification of windows,through insulation depth required, to position of plug sockets is controlled and needs to be correct. In order to future proof the home, can i suggest one of two things:- You have really great size reception rooms, and an extension could be good, although, not strictly necessary. The kitchen is too small, so:- 1.) Knock through from kitchen to dining room and have it open plan, creating a good kitchen/ family / dining room. The above requires no additional extension at all. Or, 2.) Plan for an extension by upgrading to a Utility area, downstairs loo etc. Add a Kitchen that will suffice for the future with a view to extending later. Finally, if you went down that route, have a permitted development 3m extension and get back the Family room and dining area that you wanted. My top tip, is never just design a room then move to another..................look at the whole house and do it in stages. Very few people in reality can have everything at once, however, if you plan it carefully enough, you will not need to undo what you've already done, when you do extend.

If you want to change the carousel and have the doors hinged on the carcase you'll also have to add rails under the worktop and either a new bottom shelf or more rails, this is so the doors have something to stop against. At present the exisiting cabinet is bigger than the doors so the doors can fit inside and you don't want this if you want to hinge the doors. For the door hinging if you want to have the doors to bifold like the picture from Sarah L then you will need 2x 170 degree hinges and back plates to hinge the doors on the carcase, then the bi fold hinges and back plates to join the 2 doors together. I see that you also have long bar handles on the drawers so you don't want to hinge the door on that side as the door will get damaged by the drawer handles when its opened.

That's great if you can be flexible with the windows. I personally prefer option 2 but would swap the island and the dining area. A bigger utility would always be my choice. If possible, going for an integrated fridge/freezer would give you more space. I've 'guestimated' where the pillar is... could be in the totally wrong place! I am thinking tall units with double oven/fridge/freeze (built-in) on the entry wall with the pocket door. Or go for combined fridge/freezer and use one tall unit as a mini pantry cupboard which could hide away microwave & kettle. (Light Blue) Sink under the first window (can make it smaller) and then hob could also back wall if you don't want it on the island. Block up the second window potentially. Then can have more tall units by the dining table or low level with open shelves for the dining area. (Dark Purple). If you have tall units there, you can add a cupboard and have kettle etc underneath where the window used to be. Funnily enough, this is what we've planned for our kitchen. Another option, (although I know not everyone likes this style, is run the table off the island). I personally really like this design.
