HELP with living room layout/ finishing touches etc
Comments (37)Dont feel overwhelmed take your time its just a matter of trying things and see how you feel in the space, Its difficult to feel the space from a photo so take what you like and see how you feel ! You are getting there, it would be good if the desk could go elsewhere ,but if it needs to be in the room then so be it, we work around it! the curtains are fine they really suit the window etc! You dont have to use the red in the picture, you can always pick up the grey, white or gold for cushions! wall sconces look beautiful and yes you do seem to go for the classic look which is lovely! but these days you can mix and match a bit! Your choices are great I am sure we will be able to help you make this space one you are happy with!...See MoreFinishing touches to living room
Comments (25)But even with teal or orange cushions you won't have to repaint. You'd be picking up colours from your painting. I feel that the ones you found, their beige background will blend in with the sofa too much. For what it's worth, I think your living room already looks quite lovely as it is. Don't stress too much about finding the right cushions. And I would go for white frames :-)...See Moreliving room finishing touches
Comments (6)Hi - I would suggest you add a rug in the centre something to draw the eye into the centre of the room and add a somewhat focal point. The other thing you can do is to add a large picture on top of the fireplace to again draw the focal point to the centre. On the floor lamp - I agree to replace within something in keeping with your current style and sticking to the wood texture. I would also add some plants even if they are faux, it will add a bit more life and style to the room. I've picked up the accent colour from your cushions and used that to pick a similar coloured rug just to give you an idea: https://www.habitat.co.uk/grid-medium-grey-and-yellow-geometric-wool-rug-140-x-200cm-220229 comes in different colours as well https://www.habitat.co.uk/tripod-ash-wooden-tripod-floor-lamp-with-white-shade-252742...See MoreHelp needed with guest room finishing touches
Comments (7)Hi Jo, I think you are right about the bedsheets, seem to draw your eye instantly to the bed rather than the whole aesthetic. I think you would be better off, going for crisp white bedsheets or stripes and introduce another warm toned colour like cream or beige throw. You want to add a bit more texture too, maybe layer up the throws linen, wool? Give it a cosy vibe. As you have a modern look going on I would also go for modern artwork and it doesn't necessarily need to be green and white, unless of course that is the look you are going for? I think the art work needs to be the statement piece in this room and will add a strong focal point. Art is subjective, find something that speaks to you. I hope that helps :) Rukmini Patel Interior Design...See MoreCatherine Russell
