New living room dilemma.

I'm about to move in to a new house. the living room is kind of a box, 6x3.4 metres, with a patio door at one end and a large window at the other. Image depicts. My plan is to paint all the walls in Paint and Paper Library 'The Botanist' a kind of light olive.
I will have the leather sofa in the image below on the wall opposite the entrance door, with a very similar colour wood floor along with 2 of the cuddle chairs in beige tweed at 90 degree angles, creating a horseshoe. the curtains will be a lighter tweed and my wife is making a large footstool in a lighter shade of tweed and the floor length curtains will be a lighter shade of tweed again.

Add to this a number of solid wood floor and table lamps with a green tartan check shade.

My questions are, 1. Is there too much going on colour wise, especially with all the different shades of beige tweed? And, 2. I need a rug for the furniture to sit on, almost accidentally the room has become very earthy, so I would like a rug to match, a natural material but so far I can't find a material that lends any warmth, any ideas?

Hi. Is everything already ordered/bought? I might look at linen for the curtains if not to add a different texture. Does the fireplace actually exist? If it does I might have the furniture arranged at right angles to it. Have you already looked at sisal or sea grass rugs? I think the texture adds warmth. I might be tempted to add a little more colour, aubergine would work for a pattern in cushions, art etc. Do also mix up the textures for cushions, throw etc and add some pattern. I might also add brass or gold for a mirror, picture frames etc as it will look great against the olive. Plants also add life, at minimum I'd add a large potted one by the patio doors.

Curtains and cuddle chairs not ordered, I am set on chairs but not the curtains.
no fireplace, thankfully, that's why the large sofa will go on that wall.

I have looked at sisal, but not Seagrass, so will check that out.

My lampshades have a maroon in them and I will probably follow through with cushions too, I think the maroon accents the orange of the sofa??

I think that the fire place is beautiful as it is and does not need any make up!! The sideboard on the right is no so big at all and if painted with different colour than grey and distressed could become a much lighter piece with its own character. I would take the top off the left one and again shabby chick it, filling the doors with ornaments to make it more interesting. It is amazing what a transformation you can achieve with a bit of chalk paint! Hi, A run through the space is nice if you can cleverly balance the space so it doesn't appear like a corridor or mass of empty space with everything pushed to the side. It may make an uneasy vibe as you walk in one door and out the other.. as you can see the back door from there too. It may not be that 'homely' or inviting'. Consider placing a thin console on the wall there to break-up the line but still having space to move from the front door to the kitchen. We offer some competitively priced single room packages. Sukiharrison and Odd job Hadyman, Thank you very much for your comments :) We actually intended to have the sofa on the opposite wall and built in cabinets and shelves exactly like you've suggested but I absolutely loved this big L shape sofa so desided to have it as it is now. There is no problem to move one part of the sofa to the opposite wall and the other to the wall against the window, but for now this is more convenient lay out. The shelves have to wait for now but I imagine them in white. After hearing a few suggestions about the secondary light by the window I will probably listen to the pros and remove it In favour of a floor or table lamp. No curtains.. For now :) I have a big thing about dust and would like this house to be as easy to clean as possible and generally don't like curtails Over radiators. Thou I understand this will affect the appearance I'd like to keep it simple.

I think I prefer the Ikea sofa as the Next one looks a little bulky for the room, washable covers also sound good. I do prefer the Ikea sofa I added but yours should work too, they're identical except for the arms. I also think they work well with the chairs, a different style is good. Just personal opinion but again for me if you're going industrial I would go for a wood floor and it adds so much warmth to a room, LVT may be a softer option? (Last try I promise!). Not sure if you like any of this? I didn't find cushions to match just in case you hate this one and it takes a while looking! It's impossible to choose art for somebody but you may like these. Junique and desenio are also good for affordable prints. Neon signs are also a good way to personalise a room if that's your thing i would add lots of texture for accessories, I think you need to get the furniture agreed first though. I would go for a light neutral for the walls. Need to know which way the room faces and you could work with any undertone in the navy paint

also, I was thinking of brass or copper pendants, leaning towards copper. would brass he a better option?

I think the room needs more texture and pattern. Crushed velvet, linen, wool or chenilles might work for your curtains. I also liked ochre and amber colours to tie in with your sofa. I might look at plaids too as you might well be able to get curtains with the sofa colour and aubergine colours included.

Would using the fabric below for the footstool and maybe cushions go with the tan sofa and add to the room?
