Scandi doors and door furniture

Hi

Can anyone recommend a door choice to suit a Scandinavian Style modern decor.

I am in the middle of a renovation of a mid 1930's property and haven't kept any of the original solid doors (big mistake I know)

The door below is a fairly cheap shaker 4 panel door. Would this work with a black door knob rather than the handle as seen in the image.

I really don't want to buy solid doors but would be open to oak veneered doors

Yes, black Bakerlite door knobs are entirely appropriate for that period and would fit well with the door and the house. I think the door you've chosen is as good as any. It fits the period of the house and will work well with the Scandinavian look whereas some other 1930s doors certainly wouldn't.

Hi, the space looks fantastic with those wooden stairs and rustic beams. I agree with the comment above about the sofa- would look and feel more comfy if you went for fully upholstered one. I think you could play with whites, greys, black and wood colours and chose one more to add: yellow, blue or even red/pink to fit your chair in. It's better to use the same everywhere but you could also have one type downstairs and another one upstairs for instance. as long as you cannot see 2 different handles at the same time, it works. I would choose the finish depending on what you have around for cupboard, lighting,... and stick to it (if your cupboard handles are polished brass go for polished brass everywhere). One thing to look for is to get sprung handles so it is not only the lock getting your handle back up. I use Hafele for my ironmongery and I have never been disappointed.
