Sitting room colours/ curtain
Comments (24)Thank u all for the wonderful suggestions. You r all amazing& really helping me. This curtain choosing is tough but i have it down to 2- see attached.want a wow factor in the room and something that will last a long time So for pic 1 - thinking of curtains in the pink thistle both ends of the room with blinds in the light grey material either side of the fireplace trimmed with a pink, green border (border colours same as curtains)? Pic 2- all 3 small windows in blinds made with the large pink fabric. Curtains for the french doors in the plain grey material for the bottom 3/4 bordered with the larger pink trim on the top so it ties in with the blinds? We just repainted the room a few wks ago from a grey to thr cream that is on it so i dont think we have the time for a 3rd repaint...See MoreAdvice on sitting room paint colour and curtains please
Comments (5)First thing that makes the paper too busy is the stuffed room. So declutter. If nowhere else to put it, find a spacious cupboard/drawers. Paint it Yeabridge Green for example. Don't design around a sofa set you don't like. Find some pillows, rug and blankets that go well with the paper and floor. Make yourself a moodboard with curtains and such and then decide. Here are some F&B paint colors that could work well (I've tried them all, would not advise any other). Personally I like the first three on the left. But haven't seen your room (and taste), so no further suggestions.....See MorePlay Room - Colour Choice for North East Facing Room
Comments (9)Hi Debbie. I hope it's all going well so far for you! You have some great ideas. When north light is involved I would stay clear of whites with green or blue undertones or infant, those colours. You want to enhance the warm. Try a white with a red or yellow undertone. This will easily pair with yellow so great on the rug. I would choose this white first and then when a test patch is up (or you have one on paper) I would look at a suitable green to work with it. For adding fun and to break up the block colour I would add a mural/sticker to the wall (someone like ink vinyl) they are reasonable priced and very easy not only to put on, but more importantly, to remove in a few years without leaving a mark as tastes change! :) You have a great start to the space and I look forward to seeing your ideas come together. Well done...See MoreNeed help choosing new wall colour for sitting room.
Comments (53)Well the walls have been repainted at last. And the winner was....................... F&B Cromarty! Second was Mizzle, but it looked a little too dark in my north facing room, but it was a close contender. Thank you all for your brilliant advice. We both love the colour, and you can see how different it is in various areas. E D - the sofas are now away from the walls and the castors are sitting on brass cups (the plastic ones shattered) and it has worked, they don’t move!...See MoreDebbie
