Do you do your food shopping online?
Comments (6)Online: I would never order fresh produce online. I get most of my food shopping from a farm shop, some is local grow in season as available, quite a lot is not yet comes fresh & with less plastic. I then harvest from my vegetable garden as the seasons allows in the UK. Home picked however small or large a crop is so very satisfying. Anything else I need in fresh I buy in person. What I will buy online is organic items such as seaweeds, herbs & other organic fare. Yet this is not from a supermarket chain & will always be supporting companies which promote organic. I buy lots of beans, lentil, peas from an Asian shop which I soak & sprout into sprouted mung beans etc....See MoreFrom where do you buy your paint?
Comments (54)Mylands. You always regret your economies. I've repainted this kitchen 4X over the years, and last time was in Dulux which wore so poorly. Just custom mixed a new vibrant duck egg to paint my kitchen in marble matt walls, eggshell woodwork, and floor paint. Mylands matched impeccably. It was a dream of coverage, and looks spectacular. The quality of the pigment shows, looks the money, nothing like synthetic mediocre pigments in cheaper paint. It's a big improvement....See MoreDo you keep cut flowers in your home?
Comments (33)A house without flowers, to me is just a house, not a home. A room without flowers may wear an expensive ballgown but will be bereft of the loveliest jewels to set it off. All rooms need something living. Even just a single Rose or a sprig of ivy. Fill your garden with flowers & foliage. Tipsy tulips are perhaps my favourite but then I see a bowl of garden Roses & Alchemillimollis, or a glass jar of cow parsley or a jug of white dog daisies, or.......See MorePOLL: How often do you change your cutting board?
Comments (40)I never, ever change mine. I use a butcher block and a huge thick wooden cutting board, only taking care to keep my fruits from suddenly tasting like onions or garlic. Studies have shown that a wooden cutting board is naturally resistant to bacteria, so I scrape and then wash mine off with soap and water after use. All this absurd paranoia about cleanliness is the product of marketing, not science, and the supposedly more sterile plastic ones are actually much better petri dishes for bacterial growth, which is why they must be cleaned and disposed of regularly. Fine if you want to keep plastic cutting board manufacturers in China working, but not at all safer or cleaner....See MoreJoanna Biddolph
