Comments (5)Hi Eilidhmca, Congratulations on your new home! Trying to choose colours when you have a period property as well as limited natural light, can be quite a challenge. For an elegant and timeless shade, use Dulux Steel Symphony 4 from our colour mixing range. This calming muted blue tone works beautifully on the walls and echoes the Scandinavian style, which will work perfectly with your classic blue Aga. To ensure that your scheme will look great for longer, use our Endurance+ finish paint. Specially formulated with Diamond Technology, it is 20x tougher than our conventional matt paint. As for your chosen dining table, it will work effortlessly within your dining room. For a complete Rustic-Scandi inspired dining area, use a mix of bench and dining chair seating. We love how these different chair styles in white and statement lighting create a fabulous characteristic dining table layout. Comments (4)Haha... your dilemma made me giggle a bit. Sorry. Usually you buy furniture first and a light to go with it, but hey ho... why not go the other way around. I'd say a rectangular table. Marble would be good, but industrial - black frame with wooden top could be good too. It would be interesting to know where the dining table is going. Could you share photos of the dining room/area? You can add them to a comment under here. Is it a separate room? Or is it an open plan kitchen dining area? What's on the floor? All things that play a role in choosing furniture....See MoreNeed Help with Living Room/ Dining Room/TV room
Comments (7)Hi Shanna, What a great space. If your mum is not afraid of colour I would certainly recommend some large pieces of art. Does your mum have a preference of the style she would like, rather than be dicated by the space ? I would love to help your mum create her idea space. You can check out my work at www.myclaybrickhome.com/case-studies We could start with a 2D floor plan to get the flow right and then start to build that out into a design. Drop me a reply or email to vicky@myclaybrickhome.com if you want to discuss further. This work can be done online. I am based in the UK but currently working on a ranch home in Dallas. Make sure they’re statement size For the table I’d go for something oak or wood just to bring some warmth to the room - also have you considered a round table? That might help soften the shapes there. Then get a big rug underneath too! Kukoon and Dunelm have some really affordable ones. Personally I’d find somewhere else to put the chairs, maybe one in the corner of your room or anywhere else. They crowd the room and look out of place, instead I’d pop a sideboard and put some nice little vases/ books on top for added layers Finally I’d change the light to something more low hanging and maybe wood/brown/earthy tones just to add some wow...See Moresabrina
