Comments (75)Try looking on your local selling groups and Facebook marketplace as they come up all the time. People sell then when they get too big for their hours or when they move and they can’t be bothered to take them with them, ha ha. The new bathroom is still a shell :0( It’s been delayed because it’s now an internal room and we have been trying to work out about putting an outside window in ie cost (around £600!) vs is it worth it because it’s easy facing with a house opposite so gets no sun. Would always have to turn the light on - plus it would be above the shower so can’t open etc. Seems a lot of hastle! I have a separate thread on it somewhere... But anyway, we might create an internal window into the utility and borrow the light from the kitchen?? Not perfect but it’s some natural light at least. Will update the bathroom thread as need help with the shower anyway ;0)...See More5m opening - Bifold or Sliding doors
Comments (37)Hi all, We're also looking for a set of 3 sliding doors (approx 4450 wide). Obviously we want the thinnest sightline/frames we can afford but the quotes i'm getting are HIGH. 10k+ (+vat) I know there's a supply shortage/pandemic/brexit etc, but if anyone has any recommendations for reasonably priced doors that would be really helpful. (so many companies out there) If you're happy to share prices, that would be great too. Many thanks, a frazzled refurber. @Sonia - where were the doors from in your pic? @kwg kwg - where did you get your doors with the 35mm frames please? - can i ask the cost?...See Morepartition between living room and open plan
Comments (3)Are you wanting to close off the living room? Depending on the style of your home and the room, simple french doors opening in or out. Bifolds could work. I do love the Crittal style internal doors, but I think they are pricey. Pocket doors sound great, but not sure how hardy they are. Another simple option is to put up a plasterboard wall with a door, creating a more closed off feeling....See Moresliding doors or bifolds?
Comments (10)We have been through the same. Our gap is 3.4. We were advised that you need to look for bifolds run along the bottom and do not hand from the top. We debated sliders due to the slightline but felt as it is such a small space that we would lose too much of the opening with sliders so opted for 4pane sliders to keep along with other lines on the house. I advise regardless to think about: Lines …try to stick to three doors due to the three pane glass in your gable window so things feel more uniformed and less messy Tracks …sliders can have wide tracks Openings …what space is left for you to walk through when the doors are open Outside space…how will you use the outside space as don’t forget bifold stick out All of these are things we debated to get to our decision...See MoreGeorgina W
