Please can I have some help on wall paint? We are not sure what colour to paint the walls. The blind is an oat colour, oak floors and we will be putting oak on the mantle of fire. I like ivory walls I'm not sure if it looks too dull with the blind.Any ideas. Thanks

Comments (22)I hv no idea what that is. My country do never have such fancy thing. LOL. But its nice to make as a cupboard. And hang pictures above it. I'd get rid of the shelving. Maybe you can repaint the rayburn. Of black and red or of two colors that would compliment your room. Would you conside putting a wood on the rayburn itself so itd look like a counter or smtg. I'd place the TV on the other wall beside the door and your couch opposite it. A small round table and a chair by the window, to hv tea and see outside? Comments (13)You have a lovely home to work with. I would say don't underestimate mirrors for making a room look twice as big. Have you considered giant mirrors, or mirroring an entire wall? How about the curved wall? I would pay attention to lighting also, as great lighting can make your home look a million dollars and more spacious. I would make a focal point with television resting on a gorgeous storage cabinet, place wall picture frames on wall where tv is placed, this will draw attention to the art and cabinet rather than the tv itself. I would get highback armchairs and use them for both dining and lounge seating with a sofa. I like those Victorian card tables on wheels, that fold up, multipurpose. Only buy furniture you absolutely love, don't follow trends, follow your heart, after all you want to feel good at home. Don't be half-hearted follow your dreams, be confident. Comments (13)If you've re-plastered and removed the shelf from above, etc., I'd just put a plant on it, like a Philodendron. Something that can live in a dark(ish) corner. 7 years agoI agree with Elena on the grey but you need to consider the colour of your floor to go with the wall colour. So maybe grey rug which doesn't cover whole of the floor. Perhaps you can consider painting your fireplace to brighten it up as dark brown looks quite daunting in the small space.

7 years agoDulux Just Walnut is an amazing contemporary colour... here's what we did with a very similar shaped room ;)
We also moved the TV on the wall opposite the bay which kept the TV out of main focus!
