need help selling new furniture

Hello,

I have just moved in to my new home. I love the furniture here, however I need to sell some of it as I am bringing in my own bed and wardrobe. Items are really good quality and I am thinking of selling them at 20 percent discount. I have heard it is possible to sell through Houzz but i am not a business but individual and it is a one off sell. Any ideas?

Hi Nana,

Unfortunately you wouldn't be able to sell as a vendor on Houzz due to the reasons you mention. Ebay and Etsy have marketplaces where individuals sell on secondhand furniture that you could have a look at.

With the shape of the room, it may be that your furniture looks better when not against walls so that you bring it into the room more room almost trick the eye and for it to feel a more square room. Using a rug will really help to zone the space. As you say there is a radiator on the left then I would put the sofa against that wall and the tv opposite. You don't really want it (the sofa) in front of your french doors. As your wc is opposite the designated area for dining the door swing takes at least 800mm off the available space. If you changed the wc door to a sliding one it would help with space. I wouldn't want my dining table so close to the wc. I would consider combining the lounge/dining with your furniture as the space for the table is very tight. Try it though. It might work. Make scale cutouts if you don't use sketchup and play with the layout. I usually find the previous house's furniture seldom works in the new house.

eBay is a fantastic place to sell your second hand furniture. Alternatively, the app, shpock is pefect for shifting your items locally as well as afar.
