Need help with window design, have just 24 hours to decide
I have just 24 hours to decide on my window design! I have decided (I think!) to go with a flush fit, woodgrain effect style in PVC. The 'new window' on the right is an illustration of this.
I am in a dilemma as to what style of windows I should select for the non bay windows and whether to continue the one side opening style. The reason I chose this originally for that particular window is because the house has views so I wanted as much window as possible with as little frame. The current three pane style does tend to break the views from the inside.
I am worried though that this may not look right and it is causing sleepless nights! I want the windows to suit the house and any future plans I have for it, I think it needs better kerb appeal so
I may decide to render it in the future. Of course any ideas as to how the exterior can be improved in any way would be very, very welcome. Many thanks
PS Forgot to add the window to the left of the new one is going to be lowered so it is in alignment with the other windows

Personally I think that the the most attractive windows are symmetrical and the proportions of glass and fan lights are repeated again and again.
Colour- I think the wood style could look great against a crisp render but against this stone could get a little lost. If you later decide not to render you might have felt that white was a better choice.
I think you should delay making a decision until you have decided on the render.

Comments (28)I really think you should consider timber. All WWA members have their windows tested against air and water leakage, so there won't be any problems there. They come factory-finished in any RAL colour and can be repainted (outside or inside) whenever you want. And the frames will last twice as long as plastic. This kitchen design looks ok - but if you are opening up the windows into a bar then echo that with an also slightly unconventional idea perhaps - using a BORA induction hob - which can be fitted ( unusually - but the manufacturers say this is ok) in place if the sink under the window ... the hob itself has a built in extract system - so no extractor needed - and allows you to keep a flatter surface there and entertain your guests by cooking for them while they perch outside ! By moving the sink to where the hob area was allows you to take the DW out of the corner to the end of the run so it's easier to load and unload without being in the way. Comments (21)After many weeks of experimenting with furniture positions I have finally reached a conclusion which I'm happy with. I am selling the Ikea black desk which was too small and impractical for the room and replaced it with my old curved desk which now fits snugly in the South East corner of my room. I have also put the chest to good use which is now under the bed and will be replaced by 'weathered scaffold board' shelves on the South West wall which previously held my guitars. The guitars will be placed on the North East wall above my chest of drawers which are stacked and positioned next to the bed. I am still yet to decide however which wall should contain all of the photos and canvas'... Perhaps above the headboard. The speakers will be positioned accordingly once some shelves fill the South East corner wall above the desk and the 3 shelves have been positioned. The LP player along with the vinyls will be on the bottom shelf which is still in the process of design. Once this is complete.. I may have time to put hooks above Bob Marley's head for the cables.... If you believe I'm going the wrong direction with this please give me a shout. I have attached a picture with the window design I am now actively considering for the non bay windows. I thought this may be a good option since it will maximise the views from the inside. I don't know what the name of this type of window is but it is a solid pane with two fanlights above. Do you think this could be a solution? I am hoping it will blend in with the bays? As for the rendering, I am still undecided whether this will look ok with this style of chalet bungalow, at times I think the brickwork looks good and other times I wonder if it is dated! I think I may have to play it safe with white windows.....
