Hi Vera, Have a look at this photo, we have this tile available its lovely and can be combined with the matching plain grey tile to soften it a bit. The photo is the brown/sepia option but it comes in a very pretty pale blue and yellow. It's not on our website so I'll try and find a photo to send you tomorrow. The tile is porcelain and therefore very durable and doesn't require sealing. We also sell Original Style tiles but they do require sealing. Karen

Yes I prefer the flat pale grey tile. Have you thought about white travertine mosaics the rectangular ones as they aren't really white and could work really well as you have modern units with traditional aspects on the cooker & work tops. Alternatively a glass splash back all the way round in a pale grey. Also Laura Ashley does a nice pale french grey rectangular tile which I think is on offer at the moment in Homebase. They do an off white and you could mix the colours. They are the traditional non bevelled shiny ceramic type which would be very nice against the cranberry.

I think the pale grey tile is too cold. For some reason I just don't like it and think it tips the room into something not as funky looking. I'd go for a small muted (very pale greys) tile laid in a herringbone/chevron pattern, or plain white metro tiles with grey grout. I'm not a fan of grey grout and white metro tiles generally, but I think they would look absolutely great in this room!

The texture of the first tile and the warm toned grey will add more depth to the room, and help to create a warmer more welcoming space. It will look lovely when it's done!
