We live in Kildare, Ireland. We would like to buy about 12 of mexican tiles for our bathroon. Are these the small square ones for a sink splash back? Can we buy from anyone in Ireland? Do any of the suppliers deliver? Would any of the suppliers sell a small amount?

The Mexican tiles in the photo are 10.5 x 10.5 cms, we also sell 5 cm x 5 cm mexican tiles. You can find them all on our website www.caoba.co.uk If you let me know what you want I will get a cost for shipping to Ireland.

Hello Tash, first off you need to get rid of the jumble of existing storage items you have for the toys and only keep what toys are being used by the children. It's distracting and an eyesore. I would keep the piece of furniture however you need to give the pink a modern feel. It looks like it needs to be covered so that is also an option. Overload with inexpensive complimentary contrasting cushions of different sizes. The sun may fade them over time but pick soft colours where this is less noticeable. I suggest putting in a separate inexpensive storage unit for the toys. A white unit that is neutral and matches the existing white blinds. Pink up a white wicker chair and a statement pot and large plant. Non poisonous for the kids and add some green to this room. Also add a faux fur throw for the winter and a little table to make use of this room as a place to enjoy a break while looking out to the garden. An inexpensive drape or blind could be added also to compliment cushions and rugs. Colours I would use are white, green, pink. You must add a rug to this room! See attached!

My biggest tip is do not do any online shopping when you've had a few, unless you want to experience the pleasure/pain of checking your eBay account to see "Congratulations you are the winning bidder" only to realise that the item is at the opposite end of the country, the seller does not arrange transport and you don't even remember why you wanted it. (Or is that just me). Other things would be to ask the seller to confirm the measurements (especially where a few millimetres difference would be critical) and hope that they can read a tape measure properly. Don't be afraid to ask for additional photographs including close-ups, if the seller can't be bothered, then don't be too sure that the item is as described, a description saying good condition can be subjective and don't forget that the camera can lie, especially with colours. If you are looking for something fairly commonplace then it can be worth waiting for it to turn up close enough to home, so that you can try to have a look before committing yourself; for the rare items you may have to take a chance, the worst case is that if you really don't like it you might have to sell it on again. And last of all, if it seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Being disabled I find being able to do my weekly shop online invaluable. I used to use this service when I lived in a busy built up area, and found that it was just as cheap as shopping in town by the time you'd paid for parking. Now that I live in the countryside, I find it even more cost, and time effective, as it's an 8 mile journey to the nearest town. My husband then does a run once a week into town to pick up odd bits from Aldi as unfortunately they don't do an online food shopping service as yet. It is VERY rare to have a problem with short dates, or out of stock items, as there is a facility when shopping where you can indicate what you would like as a replacement should your item not be available. You can also request how ripe or otherwise you would like fruit and vegetables, so I really can't understand why you would want or need to shop in store anymore.

New Home - Furniture Lead Times?

So I’ve actually moved from Canterbury to a small village near Darlington for a job, previously I was living with parents/student so don’t have any furniture of my own and only had a couple of boxes to move up with me (mainly clothes and personal items). This puts me at a huge disadvantage as I simply know no one, I don’t start my job until May so I don’t even have any colleagues that could help. Money is fairly tight in the sense that I’m currently living off my savings, my parents have paid my first three months bills and have put aside money to help furnish my home but I’m reluctant to use that on temporary items and it’s mainly to help me with the bigger purchases (bed, sofa, wardrobe etc) and once it’s gone it’s gone. The mattress I would be ordering is available within 3-5 days (I’m current sleeping on a camping bed, it’s not a good nights sleep....) so I could always get that ordered so I have it to sleep on. It seems a little strange, as I really didn’t expect to just be living in an empty shell and having to wait so long for stuff to arrive (my own fault for not researching things before the move). I’ll see what I can do but I’m guessing it’s just a case of grin and bare it until stuff starts to arrive, I just never expected to be moved in but still not “moved in” until almost 5-6 months later.
