Should I put three art pieces next to each other on top of the bed???

Even with mirrored bedsides its still (in the style you look like your trying to achieve) find to have mirrors above to add the luxury touch. I have added a few examples.

If this isn't personally appealing to you then you could go for a picture or as you said three images but you would just need to ensure they are the right size for the space.

Tip: Stick some sheets of paper up with blue tack to get the right size for you before you buy.

Secondly, you could take advantage of the space above the radiator and either enlarge the window sill or put a shelf on top. If you are crafty, you could do a wall mounted type table, so you can leave it down when not in use. A couple of easy solutions would be to buy a curtain rail and use it to hang clothes on it. Or buy funky hooks. Or make a clothes hook that's attractive and practical. Lastly, walls above the bed can take a few shelves. You can go simple or funky, but it's a space you could easily utilise. In regard to the walls colour, I'd either go all very light (white or off white) and then have the headboards, shelves, etc. in bold colours. Or you could go one strong colour all around (including ceiling) and keep the rest white or light. Good luck!

Jonathan, AMB, thank you ever so much for your advice and designs! We had been toying with the idea of pulling the garage forward. Back in the early 2000s, planning permission was rejected for a double garage in the opposite corner of the driveway but a sensible solution would be to come forward next to the neighbouring property, no light issues and should not upset the 'street scene'. I've always been keen on moving the stairs but associated costs have dampened my spirits a little. That saying, in there current guise they are incredibly steep and dangerous for the young and elderly. A new configuration may well improve the landing space/flow on the first floor. I completely agree about the driveway, my initial thought was grasscrete but we'll never have more than two cars... if that. With us eventually getting some gates up, that could be quite an inviting space. I've been watching a lot of house shows and they always mention about being able to see the garden from the front entrance which you have captured in that floor plan. Phases of work is a strong debate and you are not wrong AMB. I guess once we have a final plan, the phase of the works should fall into place. The fireplace was a family heirloom of the previous owner, took it out his grandad's property apparently! In terms of decor, we want to embrace the character of the property with an added modern twist. We are very keen to incorporate a hallway for the very reasons you mentioned. Depends on the pictures.. what they look like, how they are framed and sizes.

An ornate mirror may work better with the style you have - if there's not too many elsewhere in the room :)

mirror will be next to the bed on top of the table so! would not look great ! what should I do I know I want something on to of my bed ! :(
