Master bedroom soft furnishings

We have recently decorated our master bedroom and I'm struggling with options for curtains, cushions and duvet covers. The walls are elephants breath and the feature wall (opposite the window) is wisteria 2201.

It's a bay window which will eventually have plantation shutters but I need some curtains to dress them. Any suggestions on colour schemes and materials for curtains and cushions. I also have an old wing back chair in the room I need to recover.

Any ideas gratefully received!

If I was you I'd go to put some colour into the room with the soft furnishings, a mustard yellow would look really nice. If you don't want to add any different colours, you should definitely try and introduce different textures to avoid the room become a sea of taupe! Think velvet, fluffy etc. Some ideas below..

Hi. You've got a neutral base so you can really choose what colours you like. I like EB with grape/plum colours as per the first pic. For the wing chair you could look at Designers Guild nabucco fabric shown in 2nd pic and mix it with different shades of purple. The cushions and linen throw are from Oka, I'd team the plum cushion with a plain mustard/chartreuse velvet though and choose plain off white bedding. Are the shutters ordered? If not I'd choose wide slats to allow more light in. For curtains assuming they're not dress curtains I'd keep them light, either a light shade of greige, maybe a linen, or a light amethyst. Id also add a large mirror to bounce a bit more light around. If you don't have table lamps I might look at gold, brass or the mustardy colour

Agree with all the suggestion, def need a blind. With regards to clothes think about how much you need to store, on hangers or can be folded. I have tiny wardrobe but with shelves so holds loads it was an up-cycled old gentlemen's wardrobe I think. A friend is just making hanging wardrobe from old wooden ladder. She saw idea on pin interest.

Taupe works well with the colours and a trefoils wallpaper (pale gold on creamy background) may look good as the lamps look slightly oriental. I don't know how big the room is but i'd consider wallpapering all of it and adding a taupe carpet. The ceilings are fairly high so hang curtain poles at the top to increase the sense of height (maybe taupe with a black border at the bottom). Add accessories in the 3 colours and maybe try a black velvet chair. Or alternatively a pale blue scheme should work.

With an interior design project like this we usually start with a questionnaire that looks in depth at your requirements for the space, how you use it and what you want to achieve - as well as the styles you would like to work with. We then interpret all this in a mood board and look at traffic flows, lighting and furniture to ensure you end up with the perfect room for you. Hi

I would dress the room in muted tones. Dusty pink would look elegant.

Cover your wingback in a similar colour as your walls and put cushions and a throw over it to give it a luxury feel.

Opt for soft pink bedding - using textures like satin that will trow light around the room.

For curtains you could use a sheer soft pink to tie in the other soft furnishings.

Would love to see some photos when you have finished your project.

Some lovely ideas - it would be a great idea to bring some colour into the room, and soft furnishings are the easiest way to do this. Alternatively keep things muted and tonal with the walls to keep your bedroom calm.
