walnut cladding too dark?

we have an open plan large room that we plan to floor with walnut wood. we have a apex wall with a stove in that runs up to the roof - this could also be clad and shelves formed to each side - and the roof between the rafters also needs some form of cladding, and we are thinking of also using the walnut here. do people think all this walnut would look too dark? there are roof windows and light coming in from external doors. would love to hear others opinions!
