New aluminium windows for tired 70's exterior

We have 13 windows we want to change to aluminium frames from the old leaded and wood ones. The wood has seen better days and the glass is not particularly thermal efficient. We also don't like the look of them. We live in Birmingham and I just wondered whether anyone could recommend a window company? I have a few quotes but I'm still unsure of the type of window and design so want to shop around. Any recommendations would be welcomed as we are ready to go! Thanks.
