Is a bath in the bedroom a good idea?
Comments (34)I've enjoyed this in a holiday let (NorthWest Georgia, USA) as part of the very rustic charming cabin decor - the bath was a reproduction Victorian hip bath set in front of a rather large fireplace. It felt and looked wonderful. But water did splash beyond the slate tiling no matter how careful we were and our hostess told us they were seriously considering either adding a 3" lip all the way around the tiled area, or removing the bath completely. I've wondered ever since what she did in the end....See MoreDesigners.......Advice please what to do with the window next to the s
Comments (5)Hello Diana, Well if you are going to renovate the bathroom.. Could you possibly look at re-situating the shower so it is not next to the window.. Thus you could remove the secondary glazing altogether and in addition you may be able to create a much sleeker shower or even a wet room style arrangement... The sleekest screens are those that are plain glass sheet. Have a look at these for some inspiration.. Also if you want really clever style and guide to know what to spend and where to scale back... think of the accessories! The shiny bits!! : ))...See MorePOLL: Basin in the bedroom - yay or nay?
Comments (14)We say yay, and we agree with @mudsi. In theright room, sinks can be so handy, and as a former renter in a 6 person house, a sink in a little bedroom can really ease morning bathroom traffic jams, as noone has to wait for that one person to finish showering to brush their teeth! However, I do think they have to be either well blended into the room or even hidden in a cupboard, as a random sink shoved into the corner of a room looks like a plumbing mistake!...See MoreBoxed in boiler and toilet next to the window.
Comments (30)Thanks @rinq and @Maths Wife, there are definitely a lot of things to think about, although it looks like there is a general consensus going on over some of the areas like toilet/boiler etc. I need to check in with the plumber on putting the boiler on the left of the window, as you can see from @rinq plan there is a new wall going on the outside and this may cause issues with required regs distances from windows etc. I like the idea of a wooden counter for the bowls, and carrying this into the alcove would be a neat idea. Im going to change the storage/cupboard from double doors to just one sliding door, with a walk in area and shelves either side. As the two doors are a nightmare. Thanks EVERYONE for the comments and feedback, its really helped....See MoreMelody
