I love Josette wallpaper. I used it on my chimney breast in my old bedroom. Loved it so much, another shade went up under the dado up the stairs and in the hall in my house too. We then moved and we have it now in our new bedroom in yet another shade! I put the paper up in my old bedroom. It’s tricky but not the worst paper I have ever hung.

Bespoke joinery is always better to achieve maximum of storage from space you got. However with PAX there is option to match up for saving cost, however you are limited to size, if you got 190cm you need to fit 150cm and have covering panels. We did in few houses to get lower cost build in units, that we put it in PAX wardrobes and we made bespoke side panels and framing, skirting so when you close them it looks like bespoke, where inside is still IKEA.

What you currently have is an aperture with doors on the front and a rail inside. You could replace the doors with your sliding door option but there is a cost implication. I have just tried to illustrate that there are cost effective options too- if it were me I would prioritise my spending on great quality tradespeople in order to get in faster and have a better finish. I would then make sure that floors, doors and the kitchen are good. Then I would buy a really good bed because you spend more time in bed than on the sofa. And then things like wardrobes can be bought inexpensively and upgraded later if you later have the money.

Hi Maria That's a shame, I've worked with fitters in the past that put far too many fixings in which is great when it comes to it being structurally sound but I always feel bad for the people that have to remove it in years to come! In my opinion, if the 3mm is secured on with 'no more nails' and pins then I can't see how it would lose its rigidity. I would put a line of no nails along the surface of each groove (not inside the groove but the top part) then push the cladding onto it until it won't go any further (maybe even use a rubber mallet), then just some small veneer pins up up the edges and in the middle - Make sure the pin heads are buried slightly so you can fill the holes afterwards. The other advantage of 3mm is you can hide the edge of it much easier as you can just sand a bevel onto the edge which hides the joint. You wouldn't need MR MDF here either with it being in a bedroom, once it is painted it is sealed. I have done a similar thing in my bedroom where I clad an existing unit in 6mm MDF (not moisture resistant) and it has stayed in the same condition 6 years later.
