Comments (10)Hi Marie. I'd go for grey and white patterned curtains. Add the texture with a throw over the arm of one sofa and then a different texture for another cushion in each sofa. Perhaps break up the grey and yellow with a plant or 2. If you want to add another colour for accessories purple will work well. Perhaps a couple of slim wooden side tables next to the sofas for lamps? Comments (10)Brilliant white can read as grey or even blue in corners and dingy areas, very few houses look good in it. I second the Timeless recommendation as it seems to be quite versatile. If everything including ceilings and woodwork is painted in the same colour, for example Timeless then it will look white and have a tinge of warmth, unlike pure white. If the woodwork is white but walls TImeless, it won't read as white. Hope that makes sense. I would only ever risk pure white in a space drenched with lots of natural light. Comments (3)Eggshell paint is recommended for metal and woodwork. Personally I prefer a wipeable Matt paint. I think you go with the brand your decorator likes and that way you have a happy trade. And lastly I think a brilliant white paint will look awful in that room- really cold and clinical. I understand the instinct to go white in a windowless room but it doesn’t work, it doesn’t make it lighter. Instead I think you should choose a paint colour that looks good in electric light. Given it already has a lot of white in there I would avoid any watery blues. Yellows can look bad in electric light and are unflattering in the morning.
