Belfast sink repairs

We have a Belfast sink in need of repair,it has some chips and scratches putting it in our new build can anyone recommend a good company that does this type of work ,we are in Aberdeen but are willing to travel

If you want new, possibly have a look on ebay for the belfast ceramic mop cleaner's sink which usually comes with a hinged/removable mop grid, these have a wall hanging splashback built in. Although it is possible, as stated above by raising the sink and sealing around, the reality is that this will tend to have a limited life span, as any sealant failure will quickly result in swelling of the chipboard core of your worktop. Have you got your kitchen layout worked out yet? One option you can use is mixed worktops. This can help keep the budget under control, by siting the sink in an island for example, and using maybe quartz in this small area, then laminate for the main cabinet runs of base units? It need not be a perfect match, as a contrast can provide a nice feature, maybe white quartz on the island, and timber style laminate around the main base units?

I have a 10 year old ceramic sink which I am thinking of changing because of the scuffs. My sink instruction leaflet says to clean it with bleach, so I smooth it all over with a cloth, leave it for a few minutes then rinse off the bleach. It makes it look lovely and white, for a while anyway!

I agree with @Daisy England regarding drainer grooves are not necessary, in fact the amount of fall is so minimal and so little water drains away you might find having the extra worktop space is more useful, there are worktop drainer boards https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/reginox-ceramic-belfast-sink-kitchen-drainer you can get instead which may be more practical. Adding drainer grooves to wooden worktops may invalidate the guarentee so check the small print, you have solid surfaces like mistral, minerva which are solid all the through, but they can/do scratch quite easily (es[ecially the black/dark colours), solid laminates worktops but these usually have a black core so if you add drainer grooves you lose the worktop pattern. If budget can stretch quartz/granite would be a preferable option and just put a tea towel down on the worktop to soak up the water.
