Decorate the Houzz UK Office walls!
Comments (54)Hi Vivienne, Just wading in with my two pence worth! My immediate thought of what you could put on your wall in your first picture of the table with the plants on it is, artwork or mural of a Japanese garden. Everything about Japanese gardens are about equal and opposites, ying and yang if you like. The effect is calming and reaches into the soul to soothe the stresses away. Probably very necessary when you've been working hard and need a break or some downtime. My other immediate thought to your second picture with the corner sofa is, a seaview or something showing an expanse of water or body of water. If we all had a choice to live within eyesight of the sea or body of water, how many of us would say 'Yes!'. Again, another subject of relaxation for the soul. If any of these subjects are of any interest, I'm sure you can source the exact artwork, mural, poster, canvas whatever you decide it's gonna be for these chosen spaces, but here's a glimpse at what I have in mind when I talk of seaview. All the best with whatever you decide to do....See MoreBest neutral colour for east facing room Scotland UK
Comments (2)I'm back - might be worth trying a sample (on at least a3 size paper) to see how it looks in the room - colours can be affected by other things in the room - ie flooring and furniture etc so difficult to give a general 'yes it will be fine' or 'no it might be too cool'... Look at the sample at all the times of day you intend to use the room too !!...See MoreTrue mint paint (UK)
Comments (16)I agree that trying testers on a white wall is best to get a true colour, but the only way you will get the exact colour you want is to mix testers plus white paint. Make sure this is on a sheet of white artist paper. When you have the exact colour take it a shop where they will match the colour exactly. I did this with artists’ acrylics and took it to a Dulux mixer at Homebase. So many people have admired the green of my front door and it was the only way I could get the colour I wanted. Good luck!...See MoreFarrow & ball v Little Greene for painted kitchen
Comments (7)Hmmm difficult one. I’ve read that kitchen manufacturers prefer Little Greene’s eggshell. Now I’ve used the water based eggshell on some furniture and it’s fine, but I’m not convinced it’s tough enough for a kitchen, so maybe they use the oil based one? I’ve painted my front door in Farrow & Ball exterior water based eggshell and it has fared really well. I personally cannot use oil based paints as they give me a very bad headache so water-based only for me....See Moreminnie101
