Adding myself to this thread and bumping this back up, as would love to hear some professional opinions as I'm thinking of doing this too. LTS: our kitchen fitter has recommended the same - holes through the quartz to screw the wood into the cabinets below, and then glue. But somehow it doesn't seem very stable, and also his recommendation is for the overlap width to be the same as the overhang width to counterbalance the weight (i.e. 30cm overhang means 30cm wood sitting on top of the counter). I'm against using L-brackets or corbels, as they won't fit in with the look we're going for. Would flat steel bars support under the wood block work? But then they would be sitting on the quartz? Or do we route rectangular channels in the quartz to accommodate these steel bars?

I recall this being asked before. Was a post last week too. Our suppliers tell us to glue it. The problem may be allowing for timber movement as it is a naturally hydroscopic material when fixing to the granite. I'm sure I recall many months ago reading to ask the granite supplier to drill holes through the granite. As I see it the options are drilling/screwing or glueing.

You have the same kitchen colour as I have. You definitely need a Splashback of some kind behind the hob to protect the wall. There are some great glass ones online with pattern and colour which might jazz up your wall From Premier Range. I’m just about to swap my worktops and I know I will need to re-paint and I’m going for the same sort of colour. I’m going to get a tester pot of Wevet and see what that looks like. Your off white colour does look grey In comparison to mine which looks more white. You could always have a feature wall to add colour and stick with neutrals on the other walls?
