This will depend on the thickness of the new wall compared to the thickness of the old wall that will be removed. If your old wall is a cavity wall it is likely to be similar thickness to the proposed new wall - so although you will lose that thickness on the new wall, you will actually gain a similar thickness back from the removal of the old wall. If your current / old wall is solid (no cavity), the new wall will be a little bit thicker, but not by much. (I think less than 10 cm, but I could be wrong!). In this case, you will lose a little bit of space.

Fitting bath and loo in 1200mm width

There are a few "small bath" suppliers out there that do you thereabouts 1200mm x 700mm tubs. Many of these are "sit baths", a few others Japanese-style soaking tubs. Using that format would allow you to place the bath "across" the side where the window is, and the toilet next to the sink. Hi We are creating a corridor through a bedroom to another bedroom. I understand building regs say that 900mm is the minimum width allowed excluding pinch points which can be 750mm. Looking at my plan attached, would the chimney breast fall under a ‘pinch point’? The door to the room will be at the end of the chimney breast. Or will it need to be 900mm from the chimney breast?
