Conservatory light - please help
Comments (10)Hello Gill, It's a fantastic space and I want to suggest something with cluster lighting to highlight that amazing roof and window.... Now it's important to say at this point that you can create multiple chords from one rose- ie the one chord you have hanging... See attached image of rose with 3 pink chords... You can choose any colour chord you like and have multiple height clusters up to 5 chords which add a fabulous look with different lengths of chord.. All you do is get some ceiling hooks fixed where you want the suspensions to hang. Fix the ceiling rose first with the required number or chords and then create a hoop and wrap the chord around with a loop length of your choice on the desired hook, with the remainder hanging with a suspension light on the end.. You can effectively design your bespoke lighting instillation... I have chosen the Fiorella by Nigel Coates.. This is a polycarbonate design that you put together and very light. Of course you can choose the suspension light of your choice, but I thought this one is a particularly fantastic choice for your room... It is available in white, smoke and gold and 2 suspension sizes.. Also table and wall lighting versions to accent. Will try to attach images to show in another post as they don't seem to want to include here! You could actually use the rafters to loop the cabling and for that I'd then suggest white cable or translucent.. The resulting look would be a linear effect and equally lovely... :))...See MoreWhat size pendant should I choose?
Comments (8)Hi. There are a couple of factors to consider such as how deep your peninsula is and the ceiling height available. If you have a double depth peninsula (e.g. 1200-1300d) then the fitting can sit a little lower over the worktop area without risk of hitting your head on it, I would then position the pendant approx 700mm from worktop height to underside of pendant. If however you have a narrower worktop, I would raise the fitting by 200mm to 900mm from top of worktop. Ceiling height, the typical ceiling height in the UK is 2.4m (but if you live in a town house you could have ceilings of 4m or a beamed cottage, scraping 2m if lucky) base on the above information you will have approx 800mm between underside of pendant and ceiling (based on the wider peninsula dims). I would look for a fitting approx 400-500dia and 200-250mm high. this allows for 550-600mm gap between top of fitting and ceiling. Edited: Just seen your post above that your ceiling is 9ft (2.74m) therefore you could look for a fitting that is even upto 400mm high and will still read well within the space If you would like any help sourcing a fitting meeting these dimension, please contact me directly. Comments (25)Thank you! Very clever. Hmm. I have no idea - ha ha! What are the white lights. I'm slightly concerned that the whites won't match. There are so many whites. The coppers might not match either. Could just do 5 mediums at different heights or 3 mediums and a few small - all in the striped. Not sure. They would be in a straight line as that's how the track is. What do you think might look best? My table would be going across the room and is bigger than that table so lights wouldn't be as close to the table. Do you think all stripes would be too much? Thanks for doing those ideas - really appreciate it....See MoreLighting advice appreciated please!
Comments (13)We haven't chosen the pendants yet - we have just dropped a couple of £1 cheapies from B&Q until we find the perfect ones :) We did get a really nice wall sconce from Spark & Bell though for the far end of our kitchen https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/491111424/aureole-brass-double-wall-sconce-with?ref=shop_home_feat_2 We went for a Shaker kitchen in the end... I will post a picture when done as we are still getting floors down and the units scribed in at this stage..!...See Morekl55hp
