Comments (7)If you will be keeping the Oak doors then i wouldn’t paint the architrave and skirting in white. I would leave them in the Oak finish. It’s easier maintenance and then you will end up going through the rest of the house doing the same creating yourself more work. Take a look a Cromarty. It’s a Farrow & Ball colour but you can match it from other cheaper suppliers such as Johnstones. It’s a lovely light green that’s not overpowering and looks lovely contrasting against Oak woodwork. Regarding a shoe box I’d be a bit cautious of taking up space near to the bottom of the stairs. I always worry about anyone slipping down stairs and falling into it....See Moredorsetdor
